Use an Existing Account to Re-Apply

Overview

You can use an existing account from a previous cycle to re-apply in the current cycle. You also keep the same CAS ID number from the previous cycle. To avoid processing delays and difficulties, do not create a new account. Duplicate accounts and any documents associated with those accounts are deleted.

Note that your programs may be able to see that you are a re-applicant.

  1. Log in to the application. A welcome screen appears; confirm you want to begin the re-application process by clicking Start Reapplication.
  2. Ensure your profile information, including your contact information, is correct.
  3. Decide if you want to copy application data. Your selection cannot be changed.

When re-applying, note that you can:

  • Copy your application from the previous cycle to the next (for example, from the 2024–2025 cycle into the 2025–2026 cycle).
  • Skip a cycle and copy your application (for example, from the 2023–2024 cycle into the 2025–2026 cycle).
  • Skip several cycles between applications. However, application data is unavailable after three cycles of inactivity (for example, if you last applied in the 2021–2022 cycle, you cannot copy your application into the 2025–2026 cycle). This includes any transcripts or WES evaluations, where applicable.

If You Choose to Start a Fresh Application

The data from your previous application cycle is wiped clean and you proceed with a blank application.

If You Choose to Copy Application Data

Information such as coursework, official test scores, attached transcripts, etc. can be copied into the new application. Evaluations, essays, payments, and program-specific information cannot be copied into the new application.

  1. Log in to the application. A welcome screen appears; confirm you want to begin the re-application process by clicking Start Reapplication.
  2. Click the checkbox to confirm that you want to copy your previous application. After you click Confirm, you cannot start over with a new, blank application.
  3. Select the information you want to carry over. Unselected items will not carry over and cannot be recovered, so ensure your selections are complete before proceeding.
  4. Click the checkbox to confirm your selections and your understanding that this action cannot be undone. Then, click Continue.
  5. Your selected data will begin copying to your new application. This usually takes a few minutes to complete, but can be up to 30 minutes. You will receive an email once the application is ready. If it is taking longer than 30 minutes, log out and log back in to check your application status.

Once your application is successfully copied, you must review every copied section and confirm the data is accurate. You can make updates if necessary.

To successfully copy official test scores, the name and date of birth on your new application must match the name and date of birth on your original application. Note that it can take several days for the matching process to complete. If you have a difference in name and date of birth, contact customer service to have your scores manually copied into your application.
