Program Attributes

Here you can configure which program attributes are available in the:

  • Home tab for programs in the Configuration Portal
  • Home tab for programs in the Program Materials section in the Applicant Portal, and
  • Add Program tab of the Applicant Portal.

Note that the program attributes can't be reordered in the Application Builder. However, this order doesn't match the order that they are displayed in the Configuration or Application Portals.

To add a new program attribute:

  1. Click Add.
  2. Select an attribute.
  3. Enter a display name.
  4. Select if the program attribute is required for users to complete in the Configuration Portal.
  5. Select if the program attribute is Read-only, where only association users can edit it in the Configuration Portal; admissions users won't be able to edit it.
  6. Select if the program attribute appears on the table where programs are listed under the Add Program tab in the Applicant Portal.
  7. Select if the program attribute displays on the Home tab for programs in the Program Materials section in the Applicant Portal.
  8. Click Save changes.

To delete a program attribute, click the trash icon. To edit an existing program attribute, click the edit icon.

Program Selection

Here you can add instruction text to the Add Program page in the Applicant Portal. You can choose if programs have filters and which ones are activated.

To edit the instruction text:

  1. Click the edit icon.
  2. Enter your text. You can use the formatting options to further customize your text.
  3. Click Save.

You can then select the program selection options and the number of programs allowed by the CAS. You can also select if applicants can rank the programs selected within and across organizations.

To make these edits:

  1. Click the edit icon.
  2. Select if you want organizations to select their own program selection rules.
  3. Select the program selection option.
    • PS_1 - ProgramType: limits the applicants from selecting more than X program types.
    • PS_2 - SingleProgramPerOrg: limits the applicant to choose one program from each organization.
    • PS_3 - oneProgramPerOrgPerTerm: limits the applicant to choose one program from each organization in each term.
    • PS_4 - oneProgramPerProgramCodePerTermAndPerYear: limits the applicant to choose one program by program code for each term and year.

    • PS_7 - xProgramsPerTerm: limits the applicant from choosing more than X programs in each term.
    • None: doesn't limit the number of programs an applicant can select.
  4. If you selected PS_7 - xProgramsPerTerm, then enter the number of programs applicants are limited to.
  5. Select if applicants can rank the programs selected within each organization.
  6. Click the check icon.

You can choose to include a primary filter. If you select this option, no programs will be listed on the Add Program page until an applicant selects from the filter first. To enable this:

  1. Click Enable Primary Filter.
  2. Select the attribute. Note that the attributes listed here are the ones activated under Program Attributes.
  3. Enter the placeholder text. This is the gray text that appears in the background of the field.
  4. Enter a label. This becomes the field name for the drop-down on the Add Program page in the Applicant Portal.
  5. Click the check icon.

You can also choose to use secondary filters. These appear in a table above the listed programs, and applicants can use these filters to narrow down to specific programs. You can select up to six secondary filters. To add one:

  1. Click Add Secondary Filter.
  2. Select the attribute. Note that the attributes listed here are the ones activated under Program Attributes.
  3. Enter the placeholder text. This is the gray text that appears in the background of the field.

  5. Click the check icon.

You can edit and delete primary and secondary filters by clicking the edit and trash icons, respectively.
