InterCAS Transfer Service Feature

Many institutions participate in several different Liaison CASs and may be interested in considering an applicant denied admissions in one CAS in another CAS at the same institution. The InterCAS Transfer Service Feature allows an applicant to be transferred from one CAS to another.

For example, if an applicant is denied to Demo University's physician assistant (CASPA) program and Demo University would like to consider this same applicant for admission to their pharmacy (PharmCAS) program, this feature allows the applicant's application to be transferred from CASPA to PharmCAS for the institution to review and consider the applicant for admissions.

The InterCAS Transfer Service can also be used to transfer an applicant to a prior cycle within the same CAS. This must be approved by the association. Only AACOMAS has opted to use the InterCAS Transfer Service for this purpose.

Rule to Use: This feature is optional and is only enabled in a CAS in which the institution and applicant has agreed and opted in to this process.

Note that this enhancement is only for applicants in the Received, Complete, and Verified application statuses.

WebAdMIT

You can view these applicants in WebAdMIT under the Manual designation status. Note the following considerations:

  • Only select application questions/information from the core application (i.e., Personal Information, Academic History, and Supporting Information) that are available in both the original CAS and the new CAS will be available in WebAdMIT. For example, if the original and new CAS both request an applicant’s colleges attended, then that data will carry over. However, if the original CAS has a question specific to the discipline and the new CAS doesn’t contain that question, then that data will not carry forward.

  • The following items are not carried forward:

    • Letters of recommendation

    • Release statements

    • Essays

    • Documents

  • The applicant’s application will not be required to meet the new CAS’s requirements. For example, if the original CAS requires two letters of recommendation and the new CAS requires three letters of recommendation, the applicant will not be required to submit a third letter of recommendation.
