Liaison-Assisted Applicant Deferral Process (LAD)
Liaison-Assisted Applicant Deferral Process
The CAS can choose to use the Liaison-Assisted Applicant Deferral Process to move applicants and a large set of their application data from one cycle to the next if they meet deferral criteria set by the CAS or individual program.
Rule to Use: This feature is optional to use and must be approved by the Liaison Development and Support teams. See the CAS Milestones for the current cycle dates.

FAQ
Q: Can an applicant add additional designations?
A: Yes, this is allowed. When an applicant is manually deferred to the new cycle, the school that deferred them has their designation added as a 'Manual' status. But the applicant's overall application status is 'In Progress', so in theory they are allowed to log in and submit to additional designations. To note, this is not a common practice we see among applicants.
Q: Can an applicant complete the Academic Update period in the new cycle they are deferred to?
A: Yes, they are a standard re-applicant and are allowed to go in and add more coursework during the Academic Update period.
Important Limitations
This deferral process does not carry forward any CAS Custom Question Blocks or Questions, program materials information including questions, documents, and prerequisites, document uploads or evaluations, nor the CAS essay/personal statement. This process only applies to applicants who have a CAS application. If the applicant was added into a cycle via the Direct Applicant process, then they will not be included in the LAD process.
