Creating Your Account
OpenCCC is your starting point for applying to the California Community Colleges.
- First, research your colleges and programs, and from their websites, click the Apply link.
- Create a California Community College account and get a CCCID, which stays with you throughout your educational journey.
- Once completed, you'll be automatically redirected from OpenCCC to CCCStart. Some of your application information will be prefilled for you, like contact information.
Once you have created your CCCStart account, you may want to bookmark the application URL: https://cccstart.cas.myliaison.com/
You'll need to verify your account each time you log in to CCCStart and OpenCCC; this is to protect your account and personal information.
Account Basics
When creating your account, consider the following:
- Create only one account to avoid processing delays and difficulties. Duplicate accounts are deleted.
- For your own security, do not share your password or account information with anyone.
- Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Use an email address that you check frequently to avoid missing important updates.
Reset Your Password
Your password information is not accessible by customer service. To reset your password, use OpenCCC's forgot password workflow; visit OpenCCC's Submit a request form for more guidance.
Updating Your OpenCCC Profile
You can make limited updates to your account information on the OpenCCC Profile page in the Applicant Menu. Information such as your legal name, date of birth, email, and phone number must be managed through OpenCCC; visit OpenCCC's Submit a request form for more guidance.
