This page applies to the CSU Transfer Planner University Portal.
The Configuration Portal allows you to customize your programs for the CSU Transfer Planner Student Portal. Students will enter into Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) agreements with your program based on your program's configurations, so it's important to be clear and accurate with your program's requirements and expectations of transfer students.
From August 1 to July 30 every year, students will see your current program configurations in the CSU Transfer Planner Student Portal. Students can search for your programs using the Research Universities & Programs button on their Dashboard.
Within this page, they'll see all available CSU programs and can filter and search to narrow their selections.
Each program has a note indicating whether it's currently accepting TSP agreements. Once the TSP period closes on November 30, every program's Currently Accepts TSP status will change to No. Students can still view and follow programs throughout the year.
Each year, the Configuration Portal is open from early to mid-June so you can prepare your program configurations for the next TSP launch on August 1.
For 2025, the configuration period is May 12–30.
The programs, program names, and articulation agreements you see are imported from ASSIST. If your program is not in ASSIST, we cannot add it to CSU Transfer Planner Configuration Portal.
The following information provides more details about the source of your program details and when they were imported. You can update your program image and descriptions in the CSU Transfer Planner Configuration Portal.

If you want to add a new program to CSU Transfer Planner, you must first contact your Articulation Officer to make changes in ASSIST. Be aware that program data is imported from ASSIST in the summer. If your program is not in ASSIST before the import, then you must wait for your program to be added next year.
If you want to delete a program, use the CSU Transfer Planner Program Removal Request form. Be aware that once a program is removed, it cannot be added back to CSU Transfer Planner until the next year.
Your branding image appears on the top of your home page. We recommend using an image that is consistent with your program or university’s branding. This is the only section where students will see your specific program's branding, so make it count!
You can upload a new branding image or select an existing branding image through the Configuration Portal.
The information you add here will be what the student sees first as they review your program. Be sure to review the Program Detail Definitions and Best Practices section for more information about each field.

You can use this field to optionally pull forward your program description from the CAS Configuration Portal and then update it as needed in the CSU Transfer Planner Configuration Portal. To do this, go to the CAS Configuration Portal and find your CSU Unique ID. Then, return to the CSU Transfer Planner Configuration Portal and enter this ID in the Primary CSU Unique ID field under Program Details. If you have a new program, be sure to create your program in the CAS Configuration Portal prelaunch environment first before you configure it in the CSU Transfer Planner Configuration Portal. |

CSU Transfer Planner only includes programs that are in ASSIST, while the Cal State Apply application can include any program. For example, CSU Transfer Planner and ASSIST may only have one business program (e.g., Business – Accountancy), while Cal State Apply may have more programs for each concentration (e.g., Business – Accountancy, Business – Finance, etc.). In this example, you should confirm that the:
Why does this matter? Eventually, a new feature will be available that allows students to use their CSU Transfer Planner account information to pre-populate parts of the Cal State Apply application. When applicants select programs in the Cal State Apply application, they will see any programs they are following in CSU Transfer Planner and, if applicable, the program from their TSP agreement. If you match Cal State Apply programs that don't exist in CSU Transfer Planner or ASSIST using this Additional CSU Unique ID field, then the applicant will see these programs in their Cal State Apply pre-populated program selections. |
