Communicating with Contacts Quick Start Guide

In CSU Transfer Planner, you can easily communicate with your contacts in several ways, including email.

Types of Emails in CSU Transfer Planner

You have several options to send emails:

Once you've begun sending emails, you can also review your email activity.

Sending Emails to Contacts

The easiest way to send emails to contacts is from the Contacts Grid. To do this:

  1. Go to the Contacts Grid and select your desired filters, or search for your desired applicant(s).
  2. Click the checkboxes to the left of the desired contacts’ names or click the checkbox at the top left to select all applicants on the page.
  3. If the list of contacts extends past the first page, you’re presented with an option to select the entire batch. Click Select all… to include all of the contacts.
  4. From the menu that appears on the bottom, click Email to send an email to these contacts.

  5. If you want to send an email that is not from a template, create it from scratch using the Message section.

  6. If desired, click Attachment to include up to five attachments in your email. Each attachment can be up to 8 MB in size.
  7. Review the email using the Preview or Send Test Email options.
  8. When ready, click Send.

Note that the process above describes sending emails from the Contacts Grid in CSU Transfer Planner. Alternatively, you can send emails to individual contacts by clicking Email under the More Options (3-dots) menu on a contact record.

For improved email deliverability, the editor doesn't provide a BCC option. Some institutions want specific users to be notified when certain messages go out (e.g., denial letters).

Visit the Marketing section to learn about sending emails using the more advanced tools available with the Campaign features.
