What is Transfer Success Pathway (TSP)?

Definition

The Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) is the process by which you can enter an agreement with a California State University (CSU) and a particular major for later transfer. In a TSP agreement, you must meet specific transfer requirements and are guaranteed admission to one CSU program. Using CSU Transfer Planner, you can find TSP-eligible programs at a CSU, enter an agreement, and continually track your progress toward a future transfer with them. You must complete your transfer within three years of your agreement start date.

As you progress through the TSP workflow, the Transfer Success Pathway Status tile on the dashboard will update with suggested next steps.

TSP Eligibility

You're eligible for TSP if you:

  • Left or graduated high school in 2023.
  • Took a gap year in 2022.
  • Are a first-time freshman that either:
    • Wasn't CSU eligible at the time of your high school graduation or
    • Didn't attend a CSU due to personal or financial reasons.
  • Have not completed college courses after graduating high school.

Timeline

Between August 1 and September 30 each year, you can enroll in a TSP agreement with a TSP-eligible program. You must submit your TSP enrollment by September 30 at 11:59 PM PT.
