Verification is optional, but requires Transcript Entry.
Verification is a process used to ensure all of applicant-entered coursework was entered correctly and consistently. Since credit values, grade values, and course subjects vary widely from school to school, programs may need some type of standardization so they can accurately compare applicants. This standardization is achieved by using applicant coursework to create a standard set of GPAs, ensuring applicants are compared to other applicants fairly and equally.
If a CAS uses verification, applicants can't make changes to their colleges, degrees, and coursework from the time they submit until their application becomes verified. Once verified, an applicant can:
- Add new colleges and degrees.
- Edit existing colleges and degrees where attendance is In Progress.
- Add new coursework for new colleges and new terms/academic sessions.
If a CAS does not use verification, the CAS will decide whether parts of colleges, degrees, and coursework can be edited after applicants submit their applications.
There are varying levels of Verification offered.
