New Features

Refining the experience and increasing the ease of getting to insights is a focus of each release. Many new features result from collecting direct feedback from our Partners and are useful for our entire community.

Standard Goals

There are now two types of Goals that an Admin user can create to track progress for specific critical metrics:

  • Standard: these high-level, curated Goals automatically fill in the appropriate Variable, Operator, and/or Filters based on your selection of a Category. Standard Goals also have their own dedicated Dashboard and can be referenced in other areas of the platform, such as the Strategize page, where applicable.
  • Custom: create a Goal using any combination of Variable, Operator, and Filters you want for total control. This option is essentially the same as creating a Goal prior to this release.

More Standard Goals may be added in future releases to help Strategic Enrollment Management teams more easily create and track a comprehensive set of performance metrics.

Strategize for Retention

The Strategize page is now available for institutions utilizing our Retention product, with one initial Strategy available:

Risk Explorer is designed to help you to navigate at-risk populations and better understand what's contributing to the overall retention prediction.

As you progress through the Strategy, you will be guided through how to determine when a student is more at-risk than the average student.

Then, Risk Explorer will detail what at-risk students have in common and the predicted impact those characteristics have on your retention efforts.

And finally, any AI-generated Recommendations will be summarized to help guide your decision-making when allocating critical resources, such as additional scholarships or your advisors’ and counselors’ valuable time.

User Experience Improvements and Other Enhancements

As with every release, some existing features have been improved or expanded as detailed below:

  • Added ability to print and export Strategize insights.
  • Added an option to export all columns from the Analyze page Grid.
  • Added ability to filter using a combination of conditions and null values.
  • Improved permissions behavior for editing templated Dashboards.
  • Updated Get Help page form.
  • Base infrastructure for app UI redesign.
  • Upgraded to Node v18.

Bug Fixes

Adding enhancements occasionally results in the introduction of software bugs. Our team has fixed as many issues as possible and gives top priority to user-reported problems. Here is a list of the more notable items addressed:

  • Top Impacts column does not populate when first page of grid records contains all in terminal end nodes
  • PivotChart pie chart visualization has incorrect number format
  • Individual Page lifecycle selector rewinds Analyze page with back button
  • Error handling issues with saving Signal Schedule property for Dashboards created by other users
  • Unable to filter date column using Equals operator
  • Widgets in saved dashboards not running and being cached post-predict
  • Aid Recommendations in Grid lower than current value

The Othot development team is already working on the next release, 2023.1. This release is scheduled to go into production in March 2023. For more details about the features planned for the 2023.1 release, contact Othot Partner Success or Othot Sales.
