How to Create Candidate Profile Summaries
Overview
Creating a brief candidate profile summary can help streamline the interview process by providing interviewers with a concise overview of key details. To create an effective profile summary, you can use the Application Summary and Export Template tools. Follow these steps and tips to create a profile summary that is both informative and clean.
Step 1: Update the Application Summary
The first step is to update the Application Summary with the data points you want interviewers to see on the profile summary. Here are some considerations to keep in mind when configuring the summary:
- Data Visibility: remember that all reviewers will see any data you add to the Application Summary. Carefully select the information you include to ensure it's appropriate for the interview context.
- Handling Complex Data: the summary format may not easily manage fields with multiple entries under the same category (for example, a candidate may have many job experiences or certifications).
- Avoid Full Forms and Photos: refrain from adding entire application forms or photos directly to the summary. These elements are not compatible with the summary format and could disrupt the layout.
Step 2: Create a New Export Template
Once the Application Summary is set up, create a PDF Export Template tailored for the profile summary. This template determines which sections appear on the final document, allowing you to keep it concise and relevant.
- Include Key Components: add the Application Summary and edit the Portfolios section to include only the Headshot. This ensures the profile summary includes all necessary details at a glance.
- Disable Unnecessary Fields: turn off all other sections not essential for the profile summary, such as attachments, evaluations, etc.
After saving the template, you can select it whenever you're ready to create candidate profile summaries.
Tips
- Creating a profile summary may involve some trial and error. Test the layout to make sure the data points are well-organized and easy to read. The goal is to provide a snapshot that supports interviewers without overwhelming them.
- Note that the headshot will appear at the bottom of the export, with additional metadata surrounding the image. Review the final layout to confirm it’s clean and focused.
