Technical Alert: New Send Limits for TargetX Communication Tools
Salesforce has announced that beginning July 1, 2026, they will enforce Step-Up Authentication for report access, which impacts how TargetX accesses report-based Email, SMS and Print data. To ensure compliance ahead of this deadline, TargetX will implement corresponding changes on June 24, 2026.
The direct result of this enforcement is that TargetX communication tools will no longer support Email, SMS or Print processes based on reports containing more than 100,000 records. This impacts TargetX Email, Comm Planner Email and SMS, TX Apps SMS, and TX Print.
Additional details are available in the Salesforce Help article Prepare for the upcoming Step-up Authentication requirements on Report Actions.
For electronic communication, this limit applies to the total number of records in the source report, not just the number of emails or SMS being sent in a single broadcast.
- The limit does not take into consideration the number of people who would receive an individual broadcast for larger campaigns – it considers the report in full regardless of prior sends or filter logic. If the associated report contains more than 100,000 records, the send will be blocked.
When a broadcast attempts a send that is tied to a report with over 100,000 records:
- The send will not be completed.
- An alert will be sent to system administrators indicating the attempted communication was blocked.
- Your send attempt will appear as ‘Failed’ in TargetX Email, Communication Planner, or TX Apps with an error code of: 7015: The report exceeds the maximum report size for a broadcast. Please update your report filters to return a maximum of 100,000 rows.
Required Action prior to June 24, 2026
If you currently send Emails or SMS campaigns, or run Print processes that use reports that may exceed 100,000 records, you will need to:
- Redesign reports used for sending to ensure they return fewer than 100,000 total records
- Break large populations into multiple reports or segments
- Adjust any recurring or rolling campaigns that rely on large report datasets
TargetX is actively evaluating alternative approaches to support larger audience sends, and we will share the timeline for large broadcast support when one is identified.

As a reminder, due to additional, separate Salesforce security updates, App Snapshot users must update be using the May ‘26 Online Application package prior to June 12 to avoid disruption to use of snapshot functionality.
