Updating Informatica Power Center Tasks

If you are not using the default TargetX/Informatica Default Directory Structure you may need to update your PowerCenter tasks to locate and convert your fixed-width source files for TargetX Standard Template task flows.

1. Confirm that you have an XML editor installed on your computer.
   • Notepad++ (Windows) and TextWrangler (Mac) are two free options.
2. Log in to Informatica via Single Sign-On.
3. Navigate to Applications > PowerCenter Tasks.
4. Edit the task you wish to update.
5. Click the "Download XML File" button.
6. Open the downloaded XML file in an XML editor.
7. Using the search feature in the editor, find all instances of the "Source file directory" and "Output file directory," changing the file path as needed.
8. Once all instances of the path needing to be changed are updated, save the XML file.
9. Return to the Informatica PowerCenter task and click "Upload XML File."
10. Click "Save."
