Best Practices for Managing Field Updates

  • If you are using Workflows to send emails, be sure to build out an immediate action to create a closed task to acknowledge the fact that the email was sent as this will allow users to keep track of triggered emails.
  • Use scheduled or time-dependent actions in Flows, instead of immediate actions. This will restrict the amount of automation that occurs in one transaction and will limit the amount of system resources being used at one time.
  • Check the "Protect from Deletion" checkbox on Account records in order to prevent Account records from unintentionally being deleted or Account Names being changed.
