Salesforce recently announced that they are moving all their infrastructure to “Hyperforce” by the end of 2024. You can read more about this change in the Salesforce article Introducing Hyperforce - General Information & FAQ .
The most salient change that Hyperforce brings is the end of IP Allowlists (also called “whitelists.”) Salesforce no longer recommends IP Allowlists to integrate with their infrastructure. You can read more about this specific change in the Salesforce article Retain uninterrupted access to Salesforce services on Hyperforce.
Salesforce discourages IP allowlisting because when IPs are added or changed, customers can experience connection interruptions until they update their allowlists. Hyperforce runs in the cloud, and cloud infrastructure is ephemeral by nature. IPs are updated frequently in Hyperforce, sometimes outside of Salesforce's control. Refer to the Knowledge Articles Retain uninterrupted access to Salesforce services on Hyperforce and Preferred Alternatives to IP Allowlisting on Hyperforce for information on how to secure your connection with Salesforce services while moving away from IP address allowlisting. For customers with an insurmountable business or compliance need to maintain IP allowlists, Hyperforce External IPs contains IPs for connections from Salesforce to the customer's network, for products built on the Salesforce platform. These IPs are not for Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Slack, MuleSoft, or Tableau products.
The only TargetX functionality impacted by this change is Payment Connectors. Four TargetX-supported payment vendors require IP Address Allowlisting. The recommendations to ensure your CRM maintains continuous service through the Salesforce Hyperforce change are as follows:
