Application Review Tool Overview
Introduction
The TargetX Application Review Tool is designed for admissions application review. It provides a platform for evaluators to assess candidate materials and make decisions based on scoring. The review process occurs through a web-based interface, accessed through a browser log-in to Salesforce. The intuitive interface is optimized for web use, facilitating the evaluation of applicant materials. In Salesforce, the TargetX Application Review Tool is utilized for assigning applications to readers, setting up automations for reviews, and configuring bookmarks, scores, and any other elements necessary for reviewers to evaluate applications.
Note: The Application Review tool is not supported in Salesforce1.
Application Reader
The Application Reader can be accessed via a browser for a web-based review of applications. This enables users to read the application, enter assessment data, notes, and decide on the application. Administrators configure the various pieces of the Application Reader: Review Types, Bookmarks, Scorecards, and Assignments.
Application Review Types
Application Review Types determine how the various components of the Application will display to Reviewers. Application Review Types are configured to streamline the review process. For example, if your institution has a specific group that reviews Essay submissions and another group that evaluates Transcripts - you can define specific Application Review Types for those Reviewers so they only see and score the information for which they are responsible.
Application Reviews
Application Reviews occur after Application Review Types (see above) have been configured, an Application is submitted, and Reviewers assigned. Using the Application Reader, the Reviewer can enter scores, add notes and enter a decision on the application. Application Reviews can be configured to move through a series of Reviewers. For example, after an application is initially reviewed and 'completed', the application can then be assigned to the next reviewer automatically using Flow. You can also assign Application Reviewers automatically if you prefer.
File Types Supported
The Application Review Tool supports almost all file types, such as: .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, .bmp, .jpg, .dotm, .dotx, .docm, .png, .pptx, .rtf, .gif. However, .odt is currently NOT supported.
