Group Assignment Fix

The Group Assignment Fix 'batch job'  allows you to run a batch to correct records with an improper Owner assignment.

Running the ‘Group Assignment Fix’ batch job

  1. Access Base Custom Settings.
  2. Locate the Group Assignment Fix section.
  3. Select the Object that needs to be updated (ie, Contact, Account, etc.)
  4. You can enter a Created Date if you limit the process to records created after a specific date. This is optional.
  5. Perform Assignment Updates, when checked, will run the batch and update the affected records. It is recommended that you first run the batch process with this setting UNCHECKED so you can review the records that will be updated first.

Note: If multiple objects are in the list of Objects, you must run the batch for each object separately. This list of objects is pulled from your Group Assignment settings.

  1. Click Run Group Assignment Fix.
  2. Save your changes.
  3. After the job is completed, the email specified will receive an email report (.csv) of either the records that need to be updated OR the records that were updated (based on whether Perform Updates was checked)

Note: The .csv file has a limit of 10,000 rows. If you have MORE than 10,000 records, you will see the number of incorrect records, but you will not see details for records over 10,000.

  1. Repeat for each object in the list.
  2. To check the status of the job:
  • Navigate to Setup and search for Apex Jobs.
  • The job will appear as GroupAssignmentFixBatch.
