Working with Permission Sets
Notes:
- You MUST assign the TX Permission Scanner Admin Permission Set to your user to generate Permission Sets.
- Any users generating Permission Sets should have the “View All Data” and “Modify All Data” system permissions enabled.
Generating TargetX Permission Sets
- Navigate to the Permission Scanner tab.
- Select the Product/Feature and Version to base your Permission Set.
- Select the checkbox for Use @Future to generate a Permission Set if you want to have the process run in the background.
- Click the Generate Permission Set button.
Note: If you previously modified a Permission Set, generating a NEW permission set will overwrite any changes.
- The ‘Result’ section will display the new Permission Set Name. Note: If you selected Use @Future to generate Permission Set, the Result section will indicate where you can view the results of the Apex Job.
- You can now assign this Permission Set to a User.
Assigning Permission Sets to a User
- Navigate to Setup and search for Users.
- Click on the User you wish to update.
- Navigate to the ‘Permission Set Assignments’ section.
- Select Edit Assignments.
- Click the Permission Set you want to add from the Available Permission Sets list and select Add.
- Save your changes.
Assigning Permission Sets to a Site User
- Navigate to Setup and search for Sites.
- Locate your Site (for example, Online Application or Events) and click the Site Label.
- Select Public Access Settings.
- Click the Assigned Users button.
- Click on the Full Name of your Site Guest User.
- Navigate to the ‘Permission Set Assignments’ section.
- Select Edit Assignments.
- Click the appropriate Community Site Guest (TX Online Application Community Site Guest or Event Site User) from the Available Permission Sets list and select Add.
- Save your changes.
Assigning Permission Sets in batches
- Confirm that your User has been assigned the TX Permission Scanner Admin permission set.
- Navigate to the Permission Scanner tab.
- Select the Run Batch Assignment button.
