[CAS NAME] is a tool used to capture student civic engagement experiences and measure civic learning outcomes. [Trainee]s use [CAS NAME] to track the details of their [experience]s, allowing institutions to evaluate [trainee] learning outcomes. [CAS NAME] offers a forms and evaluation tool and an optional Online Approval feature, which allows supervisors and faculty to verify [experience]s. You can use [CAS NAME] to verify supervisors' approval of [trainee] activities.

If your [trainee]s participate in programs that use Online Approval, you can also monitor your [trainee]s' progress with reports and approve or reject activities on behalf of a supervisor, if needed. Once a [trainee] submits activities for approval, you are notified via email.

1. Set Up Your [CAS NAME] Account

If you haven’t already, please make sure to set up your [CAS NAME] account. You will receive an email inviting you to create your account; follow the steps to complete registration, which will take less than five minutes.

As a faculty member, you will be monitoring your [trainee]s’ progress, reviewing supervisor activity approval, and approving activities on behalf of the supervisor, when needed. The following information is important to review so you know what to expect and how to manage [trainee] activities and information:

Note the following:

  • Faculty will not see [trainee]s until they create [placement]s and add them in the faculty role.
  • Before you can see or approve activities, [trainee]s will need to submit them to their supervisor. When they do, you'll receive an email letting you know they've been submitted. You can always log in to your account to view your approval requests.
  • You can use any browser to access [CAS NAME], including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Note that as of September 21, 2020, all versions of Internet Explorer, including Internet Explorer 11, are incompatible with [CAS NAME].

Submit Activity Approvals

I have a faculty account and a supervisor account set up with two different email addresses. Can I merge them?

Yes. Contact customer service to request a merge.

I've received a form or evaluation; however, I can't complete my section.

If you have multiple roles in [CAS NAME], make sure you are logged in under the correct role. If you still can't complete the section, contact the institutional administrator or customer service to see if there is an error with the form.
