Application Requirements Checklist

The Consortium provides this checklist in the application to help applicants keep track of required materials and to provide more information on how to submit these items.

Official Test Score Requirements

Indicate which official test score you plan on applying with. Your selection will populate the code you will need to release your official test scores to The Consortium. The Other option allows you to explain why you've decided not to apply with a test score. Note that your application can only become complete with an official test score or a test score waiver for each school you applied to. If you did not receive a test score waiver from each school you applied to, you must still provide an official test score.

Transcript Requirements

You must upload an official or unofficial transcript for each institution you add in the Colleges Attended section. Each listed school will have a blue Upload Transcript button for this purpose. We do not accept screenshots or portal printouts.

Note that applicants applying to the University of California, Berkeley must upload a copy of their official transcript to be considered for admissions.

Recommendation Letter Requirements

Two professional recommendations and one mission recommendation are required in The Consortium's application. While you can submit your application without your recommendations being received, these materials are needed for your application to be considered complete.

Before the deadline, check the status of your recommendations in the Recommendations section of your application and follow up as needed.

Test Score Waiver Policy

Schools that offer a test score waiver consideration have a question(s) on their supplemental application regarding your interest in submitting a test score waiver consideration. If you are applying to a specific program that offers a test score waiver consideration, research the school’s unique policies and procedures to apply for a test score waiver accordingly.

By indicating that you are requesting a test score waiver consideration in your submitted application, you agree to provide an official test score in the event you are denied a test score waiver and still wish to be considered for admission to your desired program.

If you select Yes to be considered for a test score waiver consideration, and all other required materials* are submitted, your application will be considered complete* and released to your school(s) so your test score waiver request can be reviewed. Schools will communicate their decision to you directly and/or process their admissions decisions accordingly.

If you are applying to multiple programs, and at least one of them does not allow a test score waiver, you must still provide an official test score(s) to be considered complete*. As a result of official test scores being on file, all schools that you applied to will have access to your official test scores.

If you are denied a test score waiver, the member school you applied to will notify The Consortium Team who will attempt to collect your official test scores. Once on file, your application will be moved to complete, and The Consortium Team will notify your school.

*Required materials needed to be considered complete:

  • At least one official test score for any program that requires official scores (except for a Yes answer to the test score waiver question included in the school’s supplemental application).
    • If the applicant is denied a test score waiver, The Consortium will be notified, and their application will be considered incomplete.
    • Official test scores will be required if an applicant is applying to a program that is not offering test score waiver considerations.
  • Two professional recommendations (and one mission recommendation) received.
  • All applicable transcripts are uploaded.
  • A current resume is uploaded.

Consortium Membership Preparation

Your Consortium membership decision will be sent via email on December 1 for Round 1 applicants or March 1 for Round 2 applicants. Direct any questions or concerns to the Recruiting Department at recruiting@cgsm.org. Note the following:

  • Decision letters will be sent to the same email used to create your application. It is your responsibility to retrieve this letter and carefully read the instructions regarding membership acceptance.
  • You must be admitted to and enrolled in one of The Consortium's member schools before you can accept the Consortium membership offer.
  • You must complete The Consortium's Membership Acceptance Form linked in your decision letter to accept the Consortium membership offer.

Orientation Program Preparation

Once you accept your membership offer, you will be considered a Consortium Fellow, regardless of your fellowship status. All incoming Consortium Fellows will be invited to attend our annual Orientation Program & Career Forum (OP).

Students, alumni, schools, and corporate partners all point to OP as one of the most powerful, impactful aspects of The Consortium experience. It’s an intense, hands-on opportunity for students to get real career development advice from the best educational institutions and corporations in the country. Note the following:

  • Incoming Consortium Fellows are expected to attend The Consortium's annual Orientation Program & Career Forum in Atlanta, Georgia from June 1-5, 2024. Absences must be excused by your member school.
  • Should you become a Consortium Fellow, you will not book your hotel; The Consortium will book and cover your hotel accommodations. Additionally, you will not book your travel to the OP until you have completed the necessary steps provided to you by The Consortium in Spring 2024. The Consortium will provide a travel stipend to offset your travel costs only after those steps are completed.
