Create and Update an Account

This page applies to Time2Track trainees.

Overview

You can create an individual or group account type in Time2Track and switch account types as needed. Review the table below to understand the account type differences.

Confirm Your Account Type

For web app only.

If you have an existing Time2Track account, you can confirm your account type through the web app only.

  1. Log in to https://app.time2track.com/login.
  2. Under Settings, click Profile.
  3. View your account type under Account Type.

Create a New Account

When creating an account, consider the following:

  • Create only one account to avoid difficulties.
  • For your own security, do not share your password or account information with anyone.
  • Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Use an email address that you check frequently to avoid missing important updates.

Create a New Group Account with a Program Authorization Key

For mobile and web apps.

If your program sends you an authorization key, they purchased a Time2Track subscription for you. Follow the steps below to set up your account and connect to your program.

  1. Go to https://app.time2track.com/signup or download the Time2Track mobile app.
  2. Complete the required fields.
  3. Select Yes for the Is your academic program, training site or work place requiring you to use Time2Track? question.
  4. Enter your authorization key and click Continue or Submit.
  5. If available, click View our Quick Start Guide to learn more about Time2Track.
  6. Once your account is created, ensure you complete your profile.

Create a New Group Account and Purchase a Subscription

For mobile and web apps.

If your program doesn't send you an authorization key, you must purchase your Time2Track subscription. Follow the steps below to set up your account and connect to your program. Note that while you can create a new account in the mobile app, you cannot purchase a subscription in it.

  1. Go to https://app.time2track.com/signup or download the Time2Track mobile app.
  2. Complete the required fields.
  3. Select Yes for the Is your academic program, training site or work place requiring you to use Time2Track? question.
  4. Select I do not have an authorization key.
  5. Enter your program's school or organization name. Contact them to confirm how they are listed in Time2Track, as this is how you'll be linked to your program.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Click Start Logging Activities.
  8. Next, you'll need to purchase your subscription. This must be done in the web app. If necessary, log in to https://app.time2track.com/login.
  9. Navigate to Settings > Subscription > Purchase Subscription.
  10. Select and confirm the plan that works best for you.
  11. Enter your payment information, then click Subscribe.
  12. Once your account is created, ensure you complete your profile.

Update an Existing Account

If you already have a Time2Track free trial, paid, or expired account, you can make several updates. Review this chart for suggested changes and instructions.

For web app only.

Follow these steps if you need to change your account type (e.g., change from an individual to group account) or if you are linking your account to a new program or configuration (e.g., changing your individual account from being linked with configuration A to configuration B). You can only make these changes in the web app.

  1. Log in to https://app.time2track.com/login.
  2. Under Settings, click Profile.
  3. Under Account Type, click Change Account Type.
  4. For the Is your academic program, training site or work place requiring you to use Time2Track? question, select the account type you want to change to or update for. Select Yes if you are changing to or updating a group account or select No if you are changing to or updating an individual account.
    • If you selected Yes, then enter your program's school or organization name. Contact them to confirm how they are listed in Time2Track, as this is how you'll be linked to your program.
    • If you selected No, then select the option that most closely aligns with why you're tracking your experiences. Then, where applicable, type and select your application, field of study, or state and license.
  5. Click the checkbox to acknowledge that your selection may significantly impact how you can use Time2Track.
  6. Click Save.

Update Payment Types

Add a Program Authorization Key

For web app only.

If you have an existing Time2Track account and your program sends you an authorization key, this means that they purchased a Time2Track subscription for you. You can add your program's authorization key in the web app only. Keep in mind that:

  • If you have an active subscription and purchased it in the web app, your subscription will automatically be canceled once you add your authorization key.
  • If you have an active subscription and purchased it in the mobile app, you must cancel your subscription in the mobile app first before adding your authorization key.
  1. Log in to https://app.time2track.com/login.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Subscription > Purchase Subscription.
  3. Enter your program's authorization key, then click Apply.
Purchase a New Subscription

Group accounts: for web app only.

Individual accounts: for mobile and web apps.

If you have an existing Time2Track account and your program doesn't send you an authorization key (for group accounts) or you are using Time2Track on your own (for individual accounts), this means that you must purchase your Time2Track subscription. If you have a group account, you must purchase a new subscription using the web app. If you have an individual account, you can purchase a subscription in either the mobile or web app.

If you have an active subscription and you purchase a new subscription, the new subscription will start once your existing subscription cycle ends.

  1. Log in to Time2Track.
  2. If you don't have an active subscription, then navigate to Settings > Subscription > Purchase Subscription. If you have an active subscription, then navigate to Settings > Subscription > Change or Cancel Subscription.
  3. Select and confirm the plan that works best for you. Review Subscription Plan Options for more information.
  4. Enter your payment information, then click Subscribe.

FAQs

How do I change my account type on the mobile app?

You can only change your account in the web app.

Why won't my authorization key work in the mobile app?

Once your account has been created, you can only enter program authorization keys in the web app.
