Foreign Evaluations

Overview

This topic pertains to applicants who attended foreign and French-Canadian schools.

Documenting Foreign Coursework

If you attended a foreign school or earned your degree outside of the United States, you must submit your foreign coursework to a US-based evaluation service for a course-by-course US equivalency report.

Contact a foreign transcript evaluation service as early as possible. See below for more information about vendors and accepted formats. Services can take several weeks to process your transcript(s) once received.

Do not send foreign transcripts to UTSA Graduate School, including those printed in English or translated into English; they will be discarded.

Foreign Evaluation Vendors

For the 2025-2026 cycle: upload evaluations provided from a NACES- or FCSA-approved foreign credential evaluator in the Colleges Attended section. Additionally, upload original transcripts and certificates/diplomas from your foreign university in the Documents section. Paper evaluations are not accepted.

For the 2024-2025 cycle: if using Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., send your report through the UTSA Graduate Admissions Application. Otherwise, send evaluations provided from another NACES-approved foreign credential evaluator to graduate.documents@utsa.edu. Paper evaluations are not accepted.

Ordering ECE Electronic Evaluations

This section only applies to the 2024-2025 cycle.

You can request electronic ECE course-by-course evaluations directly through the application.

Click Order ECE Evaluation after listing your foreign school in the Colleges Attended section.

Once ECE completes your evaluation, they will send it to UTSA Graduate School electronically.
