WebAdMIT Term Definition
Administrator A user responsible for the management, configuration, and operation of WebAdMIT (also known as a Super User).
Admissions User Any member of a school/university with a WebAdMIT account.
Applicant A person who has applied to – and wishes to be considered for – a program via the centralized application service (CAS).
Applicant Channels Applicant Channels provide a snapshot of recent and upcoming activities.
Applicant Details Page A page containing data for a single applicant, organized by panels.
Application Program Interface (API) The API feature in WebAdMIT allows developers to automate admissions tasks, such as downloading application data or PDFs.
Application Status An Application Status describes how far along in the process of applying to the CAS an applicant has moved. These statuses update based on the application, and cannot be changed in WebAdMIT. Depending on your CAS, an applicant’s Application Status may be In Progress, Received, Complete, Undelivered, Verified, or On Hold.
Assignment A WebAdMIT feature that allows a user to assign an application to a member of the admissions committee for review.
Association User Any member of an association related to a Centralized Application Service (CAS). Association Users have different permissions than Admission Users.
CAS Configuration Portal A portal used to configure your program-specific requirements, settings, and branding.
Centralized Application Service (CAS) Liaison offers CASs to provide applicants with a convenient way to apply to participating programs offered at various institutions. Through a CAS, applicants complete one application that can submitted to multiple programs for consideration. National CASs are comprised of institutions across the country.
Clipboard An ad hoc list of applicants available for quick access by a WebAdMIT user.
Dashboard WebAdMIT's home page that provides an overview of application and admissions activity. This can be accessed via the CAS logo in the upper left corner, or the dashboard link in the upper right corner.
Decision Codes Used to record the decisions that you make for each applicant during the application cycle. Decision Codes provide the CAS-related association with a macro view of admissions activity.
Designation Many CASs allow applicants to apply to multiple programs within the same institution. Each application to an individual program is counted as a designation, so a single applicant can have multiple designations.
Documents PDFs associated with an application.
Enrollment Marketing Platform (EMP) A cloud-based enrollment marketing platform provided by Liaison. It can be used as a CRM tool to help programs connect with prospective students and applicants.
Evaluator An individual who provides a letter of reference/recommendation for an applicant.
Export A function that allows you to extract applicant information for use outside of WebAdMIT.
Institution Manager An individual who is the primary contact for a program. This user can add a new CAS and/or cycle to other admissions users' accounts.
Interview A WebAdMIT feature that allows a user to schedule, track and record an interview between an applicant and a member of admissions committee.
List Manager An advanced search tool that allows you to search/query the applicant pool using selected criteria. Search results are referred to as lists, which can be saved and used to complete admissions tasks in bulk, thereby helping improve efficiency.
Local Status Descriptive codes created/customized by individual organizations/schools/programs that are used to track applicants in each stage of the admissions process.
Menu Bar Navigation panel on the left side of WebAdMIT. All of WebAdMIT's tools that you use to search, manage, and analyze your applicant pool are listed here.
Panels Several pages in WebAdMIT are sectioned off with collapsible panels. This is the primary way WebAdMIT is organized. On Applicant Details Pages, panels mirror subsections of the application. Many panels contain subpanels to further separate data.
Permission Sets Access levels that define the activities users can perform.
Program See Designation.
Requirement Supplemental or prerequisite obligations for admission.
Score A general term indicated by a value-based rating across a variety of areas, test results, Interview ratings, and overall ratings of an applicant’s intellectual and cognitive aptitude.
Status Channels Status Channels provide a numeric count of applicants at each stage in your admissions process.
UniCAS A customized application service that is designed for one specific institution. Here applicants can browse and apply to programs within a single institution.
User Any member of a program with an account that allows them to access and use WebAdMIT.
Work Groups A collection of users who share common permissions and access within WebAdMIT.
