New Features and Enhancements
CAS Application Enhancements
Liaison’s suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:
- API: a data integration tool.
- CAS Analytics by Liaison and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
- CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
- CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
- Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
- Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
- SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
- Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.
Chatbot Feature within the Application
This enhancement will automatically be activated for all CASs in 2022. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
Liaison has partnered with Ada to offer an AI chatbot. The chatbot, nicknamed Cassie, leverages an API with CXone Expert, which hosts the CAS-specific Applicant Help Centers.
Applicant Portal
Applicants can access this chatbot once they are logged in to the application. The chatbot responds with information and links to the CAS-specific Applicant Help Center and, if needed, directs the applicant to live support with customer service.
Edit In Progress Experiences After Submission
This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.
When applicants enter details of experiences, such as shadowing hours, volunteer work, or health care experience, and submit their application to a program, they cannot edit previously entered experiences. With this enhancement, applicants can edit in progress experiences (i.e., experiences that do not have an end date). This allows applicants to update experiences throughout a cycle and provide those details to their programs.
Applicant Portal
Applicants can edit in progress experiences after they submit their application. Once they save their changes, their information is automatically sent to programs.
If they edit an in progress experience, add an end date, and save their changes, they will not be able to edit the experience moving forward, as it no longer qualifies as an in progress experience.
Applicant Portal Enhancements
Professional Transcript Entry (PTE) Reminder Email
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
A new Professional Transcript Entry (PTE) reminder email template is now automatically sent every seven days to applicants who have had their PTE coursework entered but have not yet reviewed and approved it. Applicants cannot move into the Complete (and Verified, if applicable) application statuses until they approve their PTE coursework. This enhancement encourages applicants to fully complete the PTE process.
WebAdMIT Enhancements
Standardized Test Type Subpanels
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
The Standardized Tests panel on the Applicant Details Page now has subpanels for each test type (e.g., GRE, TOEFL, MCAT, etc.) available in the CAS. If an applicant has both self-reported and official test scores for a specific test type, those will all be listed under the test type subpanel.
With this enhancement, you can now use the Work Groups feature to restrict which test types your admissions users can access. Those restrictions will also apply to the full application PDF. This enhancement allows you to more fully manage the application information your reviewers can access in WebAdMIT.
Official Standardized Test Field Name Updates
This enhancement is automatically available and will be implemented over the coming weeks for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
The field names for official tests will be standardized in the following format: (test name) Official (field name) (e.g., MCAT Official Test Date). You can view these updated field names in the List Manager, Export Manager, and Scoring. This enhancement allows you to more easily navigate test score fields.
Manual Designation Updates
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
Some CASs offer the Manual Designations feature, which allows you to add additional designations, or programs, to an applicant. With this enhancement, the following items are now available in WebAdMIT:
- Submitted Date
- Completed Date
- Program Added
- Applicant Specific Deadline
- Full application PDF for the Manual Designation
Note that if you previously added Manual Designations to applicants, these new items will appear once the applicant's data is retransmitted into WebAdMIT.
Coming Soon!
Please review the list of upcoming events, including scheduled downtime/maintenance, product updates, and regional training opportunities.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Fall 2022 |
September 11, 2022 |
Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's Custom Export Layout (CEL) file (located under the Help panel in WebAdMIT). Lookup table change requests should be sent to your Account Manager, who will compile and review these requests prior to inclusion in the next lookup table update taking place this fall. The deadline to submit change requests is June 1, 2022. New lookup table values will appear in the Applicant Portal on September 11, 2022. For guidance on optimal implementation of the new lookup tables, please review the timeline and additional information on the Shared Lookup Table Updates for Fall 2022 page. |
