Overview

Official ACT scores are submitted electronically to Cal State Apply directly from ACT, Inc. using the campus-specific ACT codes below. Scores sent to any campus within the California State University (CSU) system are available to all campuses you apply to. Paper copies are not accepted.

Official ACT scores from ACT, Inc. can be received by Cal State Apply at any point during the application cycle, even after your application is submitted; however, some campuses may have a deadline by which they want your scores posted. Once your official ACT scores are attached to your application, they cannot be removed.

Submitting Your Official ACT Scores to Cal State Apply

  1. Self-report your ACT scores in the Standardized Tests section of the application and include your test date and ACT ID.
  2. Review the list of campus-specific ACT codes below to determine your campus's code. Scores sent to any campus within the California State University (CSU) system are available to all campuses you apply to.
  3. Provide the codes to ACT, Inc. and request that your scores be released. Check with ACT, Inc. about their turnaround and processing times.
  4. After ACT, Inc. processing, scores are sent to Cal State Apply in batches and then posted to applications every two days. Only scores that you requested using the campus-specific ACT codes will post to your application. You can view scores attached to your application in the Standardized Tests section of the Check Status tab.

Missing Test Scores

It is your responsibility to follow up on any missing ACT scores in a timely manner. Before contacting Cal State Apply customer service, first confirm if and when ACT, Inc. sent your scores to Cal State Apply and confirm your campus's Cal State Apply ACT code.

If you confirmed that ACT, Inc. sent your scores to Cal State Apply and your scores are not posted at least three weeks after your test date, contact customer service and provide them with the following details:

  • First and last names
  • Date of birth
  • CAS ID
  • ACT ID
  • Test date
  • Date scores were sent by ACT, Inc.

We will use this information to determine if we have received the batch and to locate your scores, if possible. If your scores aren't found, we will contact ACT, Inc. to troubleshoot.

Note: if your name or date of birth appears differently on your ACT than it does on your Cal State Apply application, your scores will not automatically post to your account. This often happens with applicants with hyphens, apostrophes, etc., in their names. Wait until ACT, Inc. processes the scores, then contact customer service so they can manually connect the scores to your application.
