Creating Export Mapping

Overview

Export mappings convert EMP data points into customized fields for exports, ensuring modification of export data while retaining the original EMP data values.  For example, suppose your school uses the values FA, SP, and SU to designate your entry terms; however, EMP uses the values, Fall, Spring, and Summer.  Export Mappings allow you to translate these values to align with your institution's terminology.

Creating an Export Mapping

  1. Click Account and select EMP Settings from the drop-down.
  2. Click Export Mapping, then click New Mapping. Give the mapping a name, such as your Student Information System (SIS), (e.g., Jenzabar).
  3. Click the plus sign and add the fields you are mapping.
  4. Click the edit pencil for a field to translate the field value to the new export value.

After creating the export mapping, all exports include the mapped field value rather than the original EMP value (e.g., FA vs Fall).
