New and Improved 2025 Degree Intent Scores

Liaison is excited to introduce the new and improved 2025 Degree Intent Scores for the Intelligent Names product. These scores leverage cutting-edge data science, advanced modeling techniques, and insights from a national survey conducted in late 2024. Combined with Liaison’s extensive consumer database of over 260 million Americans, the updated model delivers unparalleled precision, reach, and improved predictive accuracy:

  • Testing with a national dataset of graduate program applicants revealed a 20% improvement in predicting applicant activity within the highest intent band compared to the original scores.
  • Analysis of a national dataset of bachelor’s degree seekers showed that the Bachelor’s Degree Intent model accurately identified 91% of degree seekers under age 25 in the top two quintiles.
  • These results highlight the model’s exceptional accuracy, effectiveness, and value for our customers.

All current and future customers will receive immediate access to the updated scores as part of their active Intelligent Names subscription.

Database Refinements

In addition to the new scoring model, this update includes significant enhancements to our source database, which grew throughout 2024 to include over 260 million American adults.

  • Key Improvements:
    • Updated age and gender classifications at the household level.
    • Minor enhancements to duplicate identification and removal processes, resulting in a slightly reduced number of scored records this quarter.
    • These refinements enhance the overall accuracy and reliability of the dataset, directly contributing to better degree intent predictions.

New Data Visualization Tool

This release also introduces a new tool to visualize elements of the ENHANCE data append offering within our data mapping instance.

  • Customers can now visualize private data branches for individuals flagged as:
    • Members of Diverse Households.
    • Likely Pell Grant Recipients.
    • Likely First-Generation Students.
