Delegating a user in Appointment Scheduler

To enable user-level filtering/delegation, modify the Admin Departments field on the User records for each user who should have permission to view/filter other users’ appointment calendars. For example, if  User A has the Main Department set to ‘Science Department’ and User B has an Admin Department that includes the ‘Science Department,’ then User B can create availability and appointments for User A.

Note: You must first add the Admin Departments field to the User record layout.

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Users.
  2. Click Edit next to the user you want to be a delegate for another user.
  3. In the Additional Information section, locate the Admin Departments field.
  4. Select the Department that matches the user for whom they will be a delegate.

Note: All the users must have Contact records with a Related User, and all the users must have the same Main Department.

  1. Save your changes.
  2. Now, when the user creates a new appointment or availability, they can select the Department members in the Staff field.
