Migrating Application Deadlines

Part 1: Export Sandbox Records

1. Login to Salesforce using Salesforce Dataloader using your Sandbox credentials.
2. Export the following objects: Academic Period, App Deadline, Period Deadlines:
   1. Select Object > Academic Period.
   2. Name the extraction file (e.g. schoolname_academicperiod.csv).
   3. Click Next.
   4. Select all fields.
   5. Select to Finish.
   6. Repeat 1-5 for each object.
   7. Logout.

Part 2: Import Records into Production

1. Login to the  Salesforce Dataloader tool using Production credentials to do an Insert.
2. Select Object > Academic Period.
3. Choose the sandbox export CSV file from your computer.
4. Click Next.
5. Select Ok.
6. Select to Create or Edit Map.
7. Select to Auto-match fields.
8. Select Ok and then Next.
9. Choose a location for your success/error file.
10. Select Finish and then Yes.
11. Immediately export this object from the production environment so that you have production Academic Period record ids. You will use this in the next step.

Part 3: Update Record IDs

1. In the Period Deadlines sandbox extract file, replace the Academic Period sandbox record IDs with the Academic Period production record IDs that were just exported. 
2. Change the date format for any date-related columns to YYYY-MM-DD in the new file.
3. Insert the Period deadlines file into the production org.

Note: The file will include Period Deadline sandbox record IDs and Academic Period production record IDs.

4. Immediately export this object from the production environment so that you have production Period Deadline record ids. You will use this in the next step.
5. Application Deadlines: 
   1. In the Application Deadlines sandbox extract file, you have to replace the Application Form sandbox record IDs with the Application Form production record IDs that were just exported. 
   2. Change the date format for any date-related columns to YYYY-MM-DD (Tip: you can format the cells to UK or Australia date format) in the new file.
   3. Insert the Application Deadline file into the production org. 

Note: The file will include Application Deadline sandbox record IDs and Application Form production record IDs.

6. Navigate to your Application Forms tab. Open each Application Form and Publish.
