Updating Page Layouts for Faculty Early Alerts

Advising Page Layout

Add the Close & Notify button to the Advising page layout.

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Object Manager.
  2. Click the Advising object.
  3. Click Page Layouts.
  4. Click the Alerts layout.
  5. If you are using Classic:
    1. In the Page Layout palette, click Buttons.
    2. Drag the Close & Notify button into the Custom Buttons section.
  6. If you are using Lightning:
    1. In the Page Layout palette, click Mobile & Lightning Actions.
    2. Drag the Close & Notify button into the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section. You may need to click the icon in this section to add lightning experience buttons.wrench 
    3. If you see TWO Close & Notify buttons, hover over each option and choose the one with Action Type = Quick Action.
  7. Save your changes.
  8. Repeat for any other Alert Record Type Page Layouts needing access to this button.

Course Page Layout

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Object Manager.
  2. Click the Course object [TgtX_Retention__Course__c].
  3. Click Page Layouts.
  4. Click the Course Layout.
  5. In the Page Layout palette, click Fields.
  6. Drag the Faculty/Facilitator field onto the layout.
  7. Optional: Add the Advising Related List:
    1. In the Page Layout palette, click Related Lists.
    2. Drag the Advising related list onto the layout.
    3. Click the properties icon [wrench] and add the following Available Fields into the Selected Fields list: Advising, Student, Record Type, Category, Type, Case Priority,    Academic Period, Notes/Log, Closed/Released?, Closing Notes
    4. Click Ok.
  8. Save your changes.

Academic Period Page Layout

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Object Manager.
  2. Click on the Academic Period object.
  3. Click Page Layouts.
  4. Click on the Academic Period Layout.
  5. In the Page Layout palette, click Fields.
  6. Drag the Available in Student Success Center field onto the layout.
    1. This field should be marked True for terms you want displayed in the Student Success Center for the Course list. These terms also need to be associated with the student's Academic Profile.
  7. Save your changes.

Contact Page Layout

You may need to add the Sharing button if it's not already added for both classic and lightning: 

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Object Manager.
  2. Click the Contact/Student object.
  3. Click Page Layouts.
  4. Click the Layout used for Faculty members.
  5. If you are using Classic:
    1. In the Page Layout palette, click Buttons.
    2. Drag the Sharing button into the Custom Buttons section.
  6. If you are using Lightning:
    1. In the Page Layout palette, click Mobile & Lightning Actions.
    2. Drag the Sharing button into the Custom Buttons section.
    3. Click Ok.
  7. In the Page Layout palette, click Fields.
  8. Drag the Related User field onto the layout.
  9. Save your changes.
