Logging in and Setting up Form Assembly

Login and Setup

The Connectors tab in each form stores the Salesforce account credentials you enter.

Note: When you change this Salesforce password, you must immediately change the password and security token in each Form Assembly form. When you change it on the first form, there is a link to automatically update the credentials on the other forms associated with this Salesforce account. We recommend you use this link.

To edit the settings of the Salesforce Connector:

  1. Click in the Connectors tab.
  2. Locate the Salesforce connector under the Submit area of the timeline. If there is not already a Salesforce connector, drag one from the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Validate the credentials and ensure the Run mode is set to Enabled.
  5. Click Save, then Done!

Security and SSL Encryption

We recommend checking the Use SSL encryption Field on the "Display Options" tab and always accessing the secure version of your Salesforce Sites.

Note: You must match the security mode between the form checkbox and the site URL. This is a common reason forms do not submit correctly.

These instructions assume the secure URL for your Salesforce site includes secure.force.com. In some instances, this may not be true. To confirm the secure URL for the site in Salesforce, go to [Your Name] > Setup > Develop > Sites and click the site label. The "Site Details" page will list the secure web address below the default (non-secure) web address.

Requirements

  • On the Notifications tab under Your Notifications, ensure Your email notification is disabled.
  • Ensure Last Name is a required field (SF requires the last name).
  • Ensure Email is a required field to validate as Email Address.
  • Ensure there is either a required school picker field or a hidden field with the SFID of the Unknown School and that this field is mapped to "Account ID" in Salesforce. (The CRM requires an Account ID populated with the SFID of the student's school - the school picker will populate a SFID, or you can have a hidden field with the SFID).
