Release 8 – August 18, 2019

About These Release Notes

This document provides a summary of the new features and enhancements available in Release 8. If you have any questions about these features, please contact your Account Manager.

New Features and Enhancements

Applicant Portal Enhancements

The following enhancement is available for the Applicant Portal as part of Release 8.

    Multiple Deadlines per Program

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.

When applicants select a program and answer a program-specific or Extended Profile question, their deadline date can update based on the program’s configurations. If an applicant selects an answer that offers multiple deadlines, then the deadline that the program selected as highest priority displays. If an applicant’s answer is linked to only expired programs, the applicant receives a warning message, advising them to select an alternate program or to contact their program.

Configuration Portal Enhancements

The following enhancements are available for the Configuration Portal as part of Release 8.

    New Question Rules Link

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs that use Question Rules and their participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

If a CAS activates the Question Rules feature, you can access and create Question Rules by clicking Rules Builder under Settings in the Program Editor page. You can also use a filter to view all rules belonging to each rule type (e.g., Question Visibility, Conditional Answer Options, etc.).

    Configure Multiple Deadlines per Program

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.

You can use the Change Deadline Question Rule to create multiple deadlines per program and display the correct deadline based on an applicant’s answer to a program-specific or Extended Profile question (if available in the CAS). This allows you to create fewer programs in the Configuration Portal while still giving you the flexibility to establish different deadline dates. For example, one program can be created with different deadlines based on an applicant’s answer to a citizenship or military status question.

If an applicant selects an answer that offers multiple deadlines, then the deadline that you select as highest priority displays.

WebAdMIT Enhancements

The following enhancements are available for WebAdMIT as part of Release 8.

    Display Multiple Deadlines per Program

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.

If a program offers multiple deadlines, you can view the applicant’s deadline in the Applicant Specific Deadline field, available in the Details button under the Designations panel. This field is also available in the List Manager and Export Manager.

    Session Timeout

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

If your WebAdMIT session is inactive for more than three hours, you will automatically be logged out. This aligns with industry standards and security best practices.
