Release 4 – April 26, 2020

About These Release Notes

This document provides a summary of the new features and enhancements available in Release 4. If you have any questions about these features, please contact your Account Manager.

New Features and Enhancements

Applicant Portal Enhancements

The following enhancements are available for the Applicant Portal as part of Release 4.

Customize Fee Assistance Program Name and Instructions

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the current cycle. If activated, this enhancement is available for all participating programs. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.

CASs can now customize the Fee Assistance Program name and in-application instructions.

    Shared Lookup Table Updates

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. The new lookup values are available for applicants to select from starting on April 26, 2020. You can review the Shared Lookup Table Updates document for a summary of all changes.

CAS API Enhancements

The following enhancement is available for the CAS API as part of Release 4.

    Customize Program Configuration

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

CAS API users can create and edit program configurations, including documents, evaluations, and questions.

WebAdMIT Enhancements

The following enhancement is available for WebAdMIT as part of Release 4.

These values are housed in shared “lookup tables” which are viewable in your CAS’s/UniCAS’s Custom Export Layout (CEL) file, available here. Additionally, the Master College Code List has been updated with new colleges and the Master High School Code List has been updated with new high schools; click the links to download the updated files. You can review the Shared Lookup Table Updates document for a summary of all changes.

Once the new lookup table values become available to applicants on April 26, 2020, they’re reflected in WebAdMIT in the applicant’s profile, within the application PDF, and in lists and exports. If your school imports these fields directly from our system to yours, these new options will begin appearing in your exports as applicants select them. If you created a “crosswalk” from WebAdMIT data to your local data in your SIS/CRM, you may need to update this crosswalk for the newly added options.

WebAdMIT API Enhancements

The following enhancement is available for the WebAdMIT API as part of Release 4.

Batch Updates for Custom Fields and Decision Codes

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

You can now send Custom Field and Decision Codes updates for batches of applicants via the WebAdMIT API. Previously, the WebAdMIT API could only process one data point for one applicant at a time.
