New Features and Enhancements

CAS Application Enhancements

Liaison’s suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:

  • API: a data integration tool.
  • CAS Analytics by Liaison and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
  • CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
  • CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
  • Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
  • Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
  • SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
  • Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.
Collect Both CAS- and Program-level Recommendations

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact your Account Manager for more information or to enable this feature.

CASs can now offer both CAS-level and program-level letters of recommendation (i.e., evaluations, references). Previously, a CAS could only offer CAS-level recommendations—delivered to all programs an applicant applied to—or program-level recommendations—delivered to that specific program only. This enhancement allows CASs and programs the ability to customize how recommendations are collected and delivered to programs.

Applicant Portal

Applicants can request recommendations in both the Supporting Information and Program Materials sections.

Letters by Liaison

Recommenders can complete the CAS-level and program-level recommendations in Letters by Liaison, the Recommender Portal.

    AP Exam Code Field

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs that use the official AP integration. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

You can now access the AP Exam Code field, which corresponds to the AP exam title. This enhancement allows you to identify exam scores in your Student Information System via a code.

CAS API

You can access the examCode property in the application JSON: "academicHistory" -> "tests" -> "official" -> "AP" -> "examCode". Additionally, you can extract the examCodeValue property, which corresponds to the AP exam title.

WebAdMIT

You can access the AP Exam Code field under the Official AP field grouping in the List Manager and Export Manager.

Universal Advisor Portal Enhancements

    Updated Advisor Documents Report

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs that collect final decisions. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

You can now access the Advisor Documents report that contains preliminary decision data for the 2021-2022 cycle. Only applicants who authorize releasing their data to advisors at their primary college attended are included in this report.

WebAdMIT Enhancements

SFTP Delivery of Exports and Reports

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) allows you to transfer export and report files from WebAdMIT to your institution's servers, such as a Student Information System (SIS), Slate, TargetX, Enrollment Marketing, or other SFTP servers. You can set up your file transfer through two features in WebAdMIT: the Destination Manager and Schedule Manager. To learn more, review Working with SFTP Features. With this enhancement, you can convert your manual file transfer process to an automated one, and set a schedule to ensure you're routinely extracting the data you need.

This enhancement was inspired by user feedback.

Expanded Template Access for WebAdMIT Administrators and Institution Managers

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

If you’re both in the WebAdMIT Administrators Work Group and an Institution Manager, you can now view and delete all the following templates created by any user at your organization, even if the template was not shared with you:

This enhancement allows you to more easily manage templates created within your organization’s WebAdMIT instance. For example, you can identify who created templates and if a user leaves your institution, you can identify and manage their templates.

Due to the increased capabilities of the WebAdMIT Administrator Work Group and Institution Manager function, be sure to review all users at your institution to ensure they have the correct Work Group and account access.

This enhancement was inspired by user feedback.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Spring 2023

March 6, 2023

Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary (located under the Help panel in WebAdMIT).

Lookup table change requests should be sent to your Account Manager, who will compile and review these requests prior to inclusion in the next lookup table update taking place this fall. The deadline to submit change requests was November 1, 2022. New lookup table values will appear in the Applicant Portal on March 6, 2023 (subject to change).

You can view the upcoming lookup value changes on the Shared Lookup Table Updates for Spring 2023 page.
