Applying Decision Codes When an Applicant Changes Program Types

When an applicant changes their program type, their previous program is listed in WebAdMIT for AMCAS with the Application Status of Deactivated. To ensure the correct Decision Codes are reported, follow the steps below. This allows you to make the needed changes while following Action Sequence Rules.

When the Applicant Was in a Non-Final Decision Code
  1. Change the new (active) program type’s Local Status to one tied to the Decision Code of “Hold for Information”.
  2. Then change the Local Status again, this time to one that is tied to the correct Decision Code for the applicant’s active program type.
When the Applicant Was in a Final Decision Code
  1. Use the Revert to Previous feature to place the deactivated program type back in a non-final Decision Code. You may choose to place the applicant in a Local Status that is not tied to a Decision Code.
  2. Change the new (active) program type’s Local Status to one tied to the Decision Code of “Hold for Information”.
  3. Finally, move the new program type’s Local Status to one tied to the correct Decision Code.
