Building Templates

Creating Email Templates

EMP has two types of email templates: Classic and Dynamic. Classic email templates provide you with a static format email in which you can add pictures and text. Dynamic email templates provide more flexibility and editing options to build and style the layout.  

  1. Click Outreach in the top navigation menu.
  2. Select Email Templates from the drop-down to be directed to the Email Template Manager.
  3. Click the Templates drop-down menu to choose the type of email template you want to create.

Creating Dynamic Templates

EMP uses a plug-in called Bee Editor to create dynamic email templates. Watch this series of videos to familiarize yourself with its features and functionality. 

  1. Choose your Dynamic starter template.
  2. Name the email template. 
  3. Click Rows and drag your desired rows into the template to create the outline of the email. 
  4. Click Content and drag content blocks into the template.
  5. Edit the Content Properties associated with the content block.
  6. Click Save Template.

Creating Classic Templates

  1. Name the email template.
  2. Choose the Responsive, Fixed Width, or Custom Template Type.
  3. Choose the 2 Column, 3 Column, or Body Image Design.
  4. Click the edit pencil to add text or images to the template.
  5. Click the edit pencil next to the Default Rep to select how you want the rep information to appear in the template. 
  6. Click Save Template

Creating Text Message Templates

  1. Click the campaign and track you want to add your text message to, then Add Item and select Text Message.
  2. Add the name of the text message, what phone number you want it sent to, and apply any Group.
  3. To edit any of the information you just entered, click Edit Details to make changes.
  4. Click Edit Content to craft the text message.
  5. Create the text message and click Save.

Review the examples and limitations before crafting your text message. Enter your message in the body. You can use variable fields such as name or the PURL in your texts to personalize them. To include an image in your text, attach the image file. 

To test your text message, select your test student and enter your cell phone number. To test to more than one cell phone, click the plus sign to add another cell phone number. Then click Send.  

When you're ready to send the text message:

  1. Toggle the Status to On.
  2. Click the calendar and select the date and time you want to send it.
  3. Select any of the repeating options.
  4. Click Save

Creating Voice Message Templates

  1. Click the campaign and track you want to add your text message to, then Add Item and select Voice Message.
  2. Add the name of the voice message, what phone number you want it sent to, and apply any Group.
  3. To edit any of the information you just entered, click Edit Details to make changes.
  4. Click Edit Content to craft the voice message.
  5. Choose the Message Type applicable to your message.
    • If you type your message to be converted into audio:
      • Draft your message in the prompt.
      • Select the Language.
      • Select the type of Voice.
      • Click Listen to my message to hear your message before sending.  
    • If you record your voice, click the microphone icon to record your message, and use the playback feature to listen to your recording.
  6. Save your message.
  7. Back in the track, toggle the Status to On, and select the date and time to send it. 

Creating Print Templates

  1. Click the campaign and track you want to add your print piece to, then Add Item and select Print Piece.
  2. EMP's Client Success Team will add the print piece associated with the campaign.
