Value Mapping: CAS Document Types

The standard Source Format for CAS documents differs from the Source Format for data: it relies on a custom function to load the documents into Slate. To successfully load documents, you'll need to complete the value mapping from CAS document type to Slate Material Code in the Source Format.

There are some CAS document types that are present in all CASs. To successfully load these documents to Slate, it will be necessary to map each CAS document type label in the Source Format’s prompt value mappings:

Document Type Label

Description

fullAppPDF

A comprehensive generated PDF including all information provided by the applicant in filling out the application. (The “Full Application PDF” document you may already be familiar with.)

evaluation

A letter of recommendation.

transcriptunofficial

An unofficial transcript uploaded by the applicant.

transcriptofficial

An official transcript delivered directly to Liaison by the issuing institution.

vendorTranscriptEval

An official foreign transcript evaluation delivered directly to Liaison by the evaluation agency (WES, ECE).

A list of documents available in quadrant 4 can be found in the Documents tab of the export from the Configuration Portal.

See also the CAS Document Types document in the Data Dictionary area for a comprehensive list of document types available in each CAS. Some document type values may need to be appended.

If documents are delivered to the Slate SFTP that aren’t mapped in the Source Format, they will remain in the directory until they are mapped (and imported) or purged.

Consult the Materials Source Format section of the Slate Knowledge Base for more information.
