Release 4 – May 4, 2025

New Features and Enhancements

Cross-Portal Enhancements

Liaison's suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:

  • API: a data integration tool.
  • CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
  • CAS Liaison Analytics and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
  • CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
  • Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
  • Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
  • SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
  • Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

IELTS One Skill Retake Test

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs that accept official IELTS scores. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) offers the One Skill Retake, which allows test takers who have recently completed a full IELTS test to retake one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking). This is beneficial if the test taker feels their performance in that particular section wasn't representative of their English ability.

CAS Applicant Portal

If your CAS accepts official IELTS scores, applicants can submit their official One Skill Retake scores to the CAS.

CAS API

The CAS API Application v1 and v2 data models now support IELTS One Skill Retake scores. The existing IELT JSON node has two new properties to capture the One Skill Retake data (osrDateTestTaken and osrTrfNumber) while the existing module property specifies the skill test type (e.g., IELTS Academic One Skill Retake: Writing).

Liaison Outcomes

One Skill Retake scores appear in line with other IELTS scores.

WebAdMIT

The IELTS test score fields have been updated so that each skill has two fields to capture both the original test score and the One Skill Retake score. The first attempt of the test score is listed in the Original Skill field (e.g., Original Listening) while the One Skill Retake score is listed in the Skill field (e.g., Listening).

The test scores for an applicant's first attempt will be listed in both skill fields, and if they submit a One Skill Retake score, then the new score will be listed in the applicable skill field.

Liaison Outcomes Enhancements

The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Outcomes. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Enhanced Email Deliverability Reporting

Beginning May 11, this enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

For greater visibility into the status and performance of your emails, Outcomes now offers detailed reports on emails sent from the Applications Grid or Contacts Grid. These reports include information about each email's deliverability and recipients.

Improvements include:

  • Improved email summary reports: full summary reports (previously only available for marketing emails) are now available for all emails sent via the Applications Grid or Contacts Grid. These reports include information on open and click rates, delivery and failure details, unsubscribes, and more.
  • Improved recipient status tracking: view which recipients received your emails and which did not, including reasons for failure.
  • Improved deliverability details for each message: from the Messaging section, you can now see a live delivery status (e.g., sent, failed, etc.) for each message you've sent.

To access the enhanced deliverability reports, click the Activity icon on the Navigation Menu, and click Emails. The details of emails sent prior to this enhancement are available by clicking OLDER EMAILS on this page.

Reformatted Outcomes Question Labels

Beginning May 11, this enhancement is automatically available for use by most CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Initiated with 2024 Release 9, question labels have been reformatted to make application questions easier to identify when creating exports, segments, and data restrictions. This improves readability and accuracy when selecting these fields in Outcomes. Contact a member of your account team with any questions.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Fall 2025

September 2025

Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary file.

Lookup table change requests can be sent to a member of your account team, who will compile and review these requests. The last date to submit lookup table update requests is June 13, 2025.

New lookup table values will appear in the CAS Applicant Portal in September 2025 (subject to change).

Visit the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for more information.
