Requesting a Fee Waiver

The ResidencyCAS Fee Waiver Program is designed to address financial disparities, empower applicants, and promote access to more opportunity across programs.

To request and qualify for a fee waiver, you must complete the fee waiver form and attach evidence confirming that you received a fee waiver for your medical school application process either from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AMCAS or MCAT) or the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM). If approved, you'll receive a fee waiver code you can use to waive the cost of the first 18 applications.

Using a Fee Waiver Code

You can apply your fee waiver code when you are ready to submit your application. The fee waiver is valid for the first 18 programs you apply to. You can use it all at once or spread it out over multiple application submissions. For example, you might initially apply to all 18 programs and enter the code. Alternatively, you might initially apply to five programs and use the code, then come back later to apply to more programs. If you apply to more than 18 programs, you'll need to enter payment information for the additional balance.

1. Click My Programs in the top right of the application.
2. Click the send icon for your program.
3. Review your program selections and click Continue.
4. On the payment page, click the plus icon for Fee Waiver Codes and enter the fee waiver code you received.
5. Click Add.
6. Complete the rest of the payment details pages.

If you use a fee waiver code when submitting to a program, the code will be listed under Payment History.
