Logging Contact Activity

Choosing to Log Contact Activity for a Print Job

When you create a Print Job in TX Print, you can Log Contact Activity Record as part of the configuration. This will  create a record on the Student’s Activity tab with the following information:

Assigned To = <User that created Print Job>
Subject  = <Print Job Name>
Type  = TX Print Letter
Due Date = Date Print Job Created
Comments = URL to a pdf of the letter
Status = Completed
Priority = Normal

If Is this a Decision Letter? was checked, the Activity record will be created as follows:

Assigned To = <User that created Print Job>
Subject  = <Print Job Name>
Type  = TX Print Decision Letter (<Application Decision>)
Due Date = Date Print Job Created
Related to = Application ID
Comments = URL to a pdf of the letter
Status = Completed
Priority = Normal
 

Notes: 

  • Print Jobs created by a user logged in with TargetX Authentication cannot be logged in Salesforce.
  • To LOG the activity - the user MUST  have access to the Activity object. (see: Permissions needed to enable Activity Log updates)
  • Users MUST be Logged into TX Print to view the PDF.

Configuring the permissions needed to enable Activity Log updates for TX Print or TX SMS

When you select to Update Activity History in TX Print or TX SMS, you must have the following permissions:

  1. Navigate to Setup and search for Permission Sets.
  2. Select New.
  3. Enter the following information:
    1. Label = such as ‘TX Print Activity Logs’ or ‘TX SMS Activity Logs’ 
    2. API Name = defaults
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Click Object Settings.
  6. Click the Task object.
  7. Click Edit.
  8. Grant Read/Edit access to the following fields:
    1. Assigned to
    2. Type
    3. Subject
    4. Due Date
    5. Status
    6. Priority
    7. Related to
    8. Comments
  9. Grant Read access to the following fields:
    1. Last modified by
    2. Created by
  10. Save your changes.
  11. Assign the permission set to the users who should have access to update the Activity Log for TX Print or TX SMS. For details on assigning Permission Sets, please see the article Assigning Permission Sets to a User.
