Creating a TEXT field to store Group Assignments on the Contact record
- Navigate to Setup and select the Object Manager.
- Select the Contact object, and then the Custom Fields & Relationships section, select New.
- Select a Data Type of Text.
- Select Next.
- Enter a Field Label [Group Assignment], Length [80], and Field Name [Group Assignment].
- Select Next.
- For each Profile listed, indicate the Field Level Security.
- Select Next.
- Select any Page Layouts where the field should be added.
- Select Save.
Note: Each additional object that you add to the Group Assignment Builder must have a Group Assignment field created on the object.
