TargetX Accessibility Overview

  • TargetX development process follows international best practices outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever possible. Content that conforms to WCAG 2.1 also conforms to WCAG 2.0.
  • Currently, TargetX products ARE meeting WCAG 2.0, AA, accessibility requirements.
  • Our teams are working hard to get all of our products and features, where applicable, to WCAG 2.1, Level AA - which ensures accessibility to users via mobile devices.
  • As part of this plan, TargetX is focused on conducting a full product and features audit. In doing so, moving forward, our products and features will fall within three categories for the completed VPATs, 1) Recruitment Suite, 2) Retention Suite, and 3) Insights. Additionally, the audit process will be conducted annually (July-August).
  • TargetX leverages a set of automated tools to scan our products regularly as new developments happen. Additionally, our teams conduct routine manual tests of our products. If areas of deficiency are identified, our product development and engineer teams will address these to ensure continued adherence to best practices. A list of tools can be found in the Accessibility Corrective Action Plan.
  • TargetX works with several partners who are equally committed to ensuring all users have access to the TargetX tools and features and their specific products. Using third-party tools that may be configured together with TargetX includes CongaFormAssemblyInformatica, and our leading partner, Salesforce. For information on Accessibility in these products, please have clients contact the relevant vendor.
  • Feedback from our clients is valued at TargetX, and any reported issues will be reviewed and, if appropriate, assigned for development based on the criteria level noted in the Remediation section below. In the unlikely event a client identifies an issue focused on accessibility, they are encouraged to notify TargetX Support at support@targetx.com.

TargetX Accessibility guidelines

TargetX Accessibility Statement

TargetX is committed to providing accessible products to our clients and their prospective and current students, regardless of technology or ability. We continuously improve our products' accessibility and usability, following internationally recognized standards and guidelines. TargetX is committed to achieving level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. The guidelines outline how to make our products more accessible for individuals with disabilities and all general users. Our products and associated features are built using code compliant with WC3 standards for HTML and CSS, ensuring our products display correctly in current and future browsers. While TargetX strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability; it is not always possible to do in all areas of our products. TargetX is committed to our clients, and any reported issues will be reviewed and, if appropriate, assigned for development. In the unlikely event a client identifies an issue focused on accessibility, they are encouraged to notify TargetX Support at support@targetx.com.

Audit and Compatibility Measures

TargetX is committed to ensuring our products are WCAG 2.1, level AA compliant. TargetX is focused on conducting a complete product and feature audit as part of this Corrective Action Plan. In doing so, moving forward, our products and features will fall within three categories, 1) Recruitment Suite, 2) Retention Suite, and 3) Insights. Additionally, the audit process is conducted annually (July-August).
Annual Reviews

As part of this Corrective Action Plan, TargetX is committed to conducting voluntary annual reviews of our products and features (July-August). Each annual review will include:

  • Complete testing of all products and features (with appropriate tools and manual testing)
  • Remediation plan for any issues identified
  • Updating of VPAT (annually, unless significant changes occur)
Reported Issues

Feedback from our clients is valued at TargetX, and any reported issues will be reviewed and, if appropriate, assigned for development based on the criteria level noted in the Remediation section of this document.

Interpretation of WCAG Guidelines

Though TargetX will utilize respected industry tools to identify compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and standards, most of the products will also require manual testing during the development and review processes. The interpretations of the manual testing may be considered subjective in nature to WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. Though we are committed to following the guidelines and standards, TargetX does reserve the right to determine the criteria levels according to our TargetX Product Development and Engineering teams' interpretation.

Tools

TargetX leverages automated tools to scan our products regularly as new developments happen. Additionally, our teams conduct routine manual tests of our products. If areas of deficiency are identified, our product development and engineering teams will address these to ensure continued adherence to best practices. TargetX utilizes the following tools to test for compliance:

  • HTML_CodeSniffer - This analyses the displayed page's HTML source and detects coding standard violations. It offers many predefined rules and can be extended with custom rules.
  • tota11y - helps visualize how a site performs with assistive technologies.
  • VoiceOver - Tool for Mac users to ensure audio elements are adequately provided, labeled, and described to the user
  • WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool - WAVE can identify many accessibilities and Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) errors and facilitates human evaluation of web content.

Remediation Plan

Criteria Levels

Issues discovered through testing, during an annual review, or reported by a client will be broken down into three categories.

Low - Low issues will be addressed based on priority as they have a low impact on users' accessibility or usage of the product or related features. Low issues will follow the standard TargetX production grooming processes and may be added to future TargetX production road maps.

High - High issues are considered non-blocking from allowing users access or usability of the product or related features but can create barriers over time. High issues will be addressed and released during standard production releases.

Critical - Critical issues are issues that keep users from accessing or utilizing the product or related features. Critical issues will be treated as a TargetX critical defect and prioritized accordingly. Any critical issue identified may be rectified during a production release or, depending on the severity, through a one-time patch.

TargetX Accessiblity Remediation Timelines

This timeline represents TargetX's priorities, strategies, and schedules to ensure all our products and related features are WCAG 2.1 AA compliant. The plan is subject to change based on priority issues identified in the Criteria Levels noted above.

As noted in the Audit and Compatibility Measures section, moving forward, our products and features will fall within three categories, 1) Recruitment Suite, 2) Retention Suite, and 3) Insights for completed VPATs.
