Step 1 - Record the Current Package Version

​Prior to upgrading you will need to find and record your currently installed version:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Installed Packages
  2. Search for TargetX_SRMb
  3. Note the version number

NOTE: If your current version is 2609.0 you are on the most recent package and should proceed to the Email Upgrade.  

Step 2 - Install the Upgraded Package Edit section

This is your "ending version" (i.e., the version you want to upgrade to). You can select any version that's higher than your current package version. Packages are cumulative, meaning the upgraded package you select includes all features from previous packages. For example, if you're upgrading from Package A to Package D, that package includes all features from Packages B and C. 

  1. Navigate to TargetX Recruitment Suite: Admin Group to select and obtain the upgraded package. 
  2. Choose "Install for Admins Only." 
    • Remember to update the appropriate Profiles and Permission Sets if additional security is required.

Step 3 - Complete Additional Configurations

After installing the upgraded package (i.e., the ending version), you must complete additional configuration steps to ensure all functionality is available. Use the following chart to complete the additional configurations. Identify your starting package and your ending package, then complete all configurations steps in between. For example, if your starting version is xxxx.1 and you're upgrading to xxxx.4, you'll need to complete all configuration steps for xxxx.2, xxxx.3, and xxxx.4.

    Starting Version

    This is the version you currently have installed, as Identified in Step 1.

    Ending Version

    This is the upgrade you are installing, as selected in Step 2. 

    Configuration Steps by Release

    These are the steps you need to complete, from the starting version to the ending version. For example, if your starting version is 2205.0 (May '22) and you're upgrading to 2208.6 (August '22), you'll need to complete the configuration steps for 2206.3 (June '22), 2207.0 (July '22), and 2208.6 (August '22).

    Item 1: Your Upgrade is Complete

    1. No further configuration is required. 
    2511.0 2602.1 (February '26)

    Item 1: Update Page Layout

    Option 1: if you are using Dynamic Forms, follow these steps to add the new TOEFL fields; otherwise, follow the steps in Option 2 below.

    1. Navigate to the Test Scores record page.
    2. Select Setup > Edit Page.
    3. In the left pane, choose the Fields tab.
    4. Search for ‘ibt’ and drag the following fields onto the page:
      • IBT equivalent Total Score
      • MyBest IBT equivalent Total Score
    5. Save and Activate.

    Option 2: add the new TOEFL fields to the TOEFL page layout, or to any custom page layouts you use:

    1. Navigate to Setup and choose Object Manager.
    2. Select the Test object and click Page Layouts.
    3. Click the TOEFL Page layout.
    4. Add a new section, labeled TOEFL IBT (optional).
    5. Drag the following fields onto the layout:
      • IBT equivalent Total Score
      • MyBest IBT equivalent Total Score
    6. Save your changes.

    Item 2: Your Upgrade is Complete

    1. No further configuration is required. You may proceed to the Email Upgrade.

    No configuration steps. You may proceed to the Email Upgrade.
    2605.0 2607.0 (July '26 Standard Imports Update)

    Item 1: Update Page Layout

    Option 1: if you are using Dynamic Forms, follow these steps to add the new Duolingo fields; otherwise, follow the steps in Option 2 below.

    1. Navigate to the Test Scores record page.
    2. Select Setup > Edit Page.
    3. In the left pane, choose the Fields tab.
    4. Search for ‘duo’ and drag the following fields onto the page:
      • Duolingo Speaking Score
      • Duolingo Writing Score
      • Duolingo Reading Score
      • Duolingo Listening Score
    5. Save and Activate.

    Option 2: add the new Duolingo fields to the Duolingo Test page layout, or to any custom page layouts you use:

    1. Navigate to Setup and choose Object Manager.
    2. Select the Test object and click Page Layouts.
    3. Click the Duolingo Test Page layout.
    4. Drag the following fields onto the layout:
      • Duolingo Speaking Score
      • Duolingo Writing Score
      • Duolingo Reading Score
      • Duolingo Listening Score
    5. Save your changes.

    Item 2: Your Upgrade is Complete

    1. No further configuration is required. 
    2607.0 2609.0 (September '26)

    Item 1: Update Permissions for SMS Undelivered if you are using Communication Planner (Optional)

    The SMS Undelivered feature requires the following updated perissions:

    Option 1: Regenerate the Communication Planner permission sets

    1. Navigate to the Permission Scanner tab.
    2. Select the Product/Feature = Communication Planner (Admin) and Version = the version you are upgrading to (e.g. 2609.x).
    3. Select the checkbox for Use @Future to generate the Permission Set if you want to have the process run in the background.
    4. Click the Generate Permission Set button.
    5. The updated permission sets will retain the currently assigned users. If needed, you can assign the Permission Sets to additional users.
    6. Repeat for the following Product/Features:
      • Communication Planner (Standard)
      • Communication Planner (Integration)

    Option 2: Manually implement permission changes to customize Profiles or Permission Sets

    Integration user 

    1. Navigate to Setup and search for Profiles.
    2. Click the Profile or Permission Set for your Integration User.

    Note: you cannot manually revise a delivered profile (e.g., System Administrator) or permission set (e.g., TX Communication Planner (Integration)). If you have not already, consider cloning to add these additional updates.

    1. Click Object Settings.
    2. Select the Relationship (v1) object and click Edit.
    3. Assign Read and Edit access to the following fields:
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered__c
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered_Date__c
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered_Reason__c

    All Other Users

    1. Navigate to Setup and search for Profiles.
    2. Click the Profile or Permission Set for your Integration User.

    Note: you cannot manually revise a delivered profile (e.g., System Administrator) or permission set (e.g., TX Communication Planner (Integration)). If you have not already, consider cloning to add these additional updates.

    1. Click Object Settings.
    2. Select the Relationship (v1) object and click Edit.
    3. Assign Read access to the following fields:
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered__c
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered_Date__c
      • TX_CommPlanner__SMS_Undelivered_Reason__c

    Item 2: Your Upgrade is Complete

    1. No further configuration is required. You may proceed to the Email Upgrade.
