Training Activity Examples

Present the following scenarios and have participants think through and perform the correct action. (The steps to follow are in the End User Slide deck)

  • It’s time for your appointment with a student. Look them up in the SSC so you can get a sense of their current status and review any open issues.
  • You have an advising meeting with the student. During the session, you note there’s been a significant improvement in their grades this term, but they continue to struggle in their composition coursework. You refer them to the Writing Center for additional support.
  • You want to schedule a task for yourself to follow up with the student in 3 weeks to ensure they received the assistance they needed.
  • The due date for your follow-up has arrived. Depending on the student, you may want to set subsequent follow-ups as well.
  • You work at the Writing Center and handled the referral. You want to close the referral and notify the staff.
