Additional Information

Community Disruptions: COVID-19 has affected students in dramatically different ways. We have added a new question where you can describe the impact of these events.

The question is not intended to be an extra essay. Instead, consider how these events affected you, your family, and your learning environment. Examples might include:

  • Illness or loss within your family or support network
  • Employment or housing disruptions within your family
  • Food insecurity
  • Toll on mental and emotional health
  • New obligations such as care for family members or part-time work
  • Availability of computer or internet access required to continue your studies
  • Access to a safe and quiet study space
  • A new direction for your educational path or career interests

Details of circumstances: You may use this question to share relevant details of circumstances or qualifications not otherwise reflected in your application. This can include details about standardized tests you plan to take but are not included in the available standardized test options (e.g., Duolingo, PAA, PEAU).

You may want to review the rest of the application before completing this question. This question is required. If you select Yes, use the text box provided to enter what you would like to share with your programs.

Common App Discipline Question

Beginning with the 2021-2022 application season, Common App will no longer ask the disciplinary action question in the common portion of the application or in the school report.

The removal of this question will potentially help thousands more students complete and submit their applications each year and present their full range of skills, talents, and lived experience.
