New Features and Enhancements
Cross-Portal Enhancements
Liaison's suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:
- API: a data integration tool.
- CAS Analytics by Liaison and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
- CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
- CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
- Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
- Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
- SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
- Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Applicant-reported Duolingo English Test Scores
This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the current cycle. If activated, this enhancement is available for all participating programs. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact a member of your account team for more information or to enable this feature.
Duolingo has established a new English test that is gaining popularity in academia. The test consists of five categories:
- Overall: the test taker’s ability to use English in a variety of modes and contexts.
- Literacy: the test taker’s ability to read and write.
- Comprehension: the test taker’s ability to read and listen.
- Conversation: the test taker’s ability to listen and speak.
- Production: the test taker’s ability to write and speak.
With this enhancement, applicants can now self-report their Duolingo scores in the application. This allows you to collect and review these scores with the rest of the applicant’s application, rather than collecting this data separately.
CAS Applicant Portal
Applicants can self-report their Duolingo test scores in the Standardized Tests section.
CAS API
The CAS Application APIs (v1 and v2) now support applicant-reported Duolingo English Test scores under the new JSON node, Reported->DuolingoEnglishTest.
See the CAS API Technical Documentation for more information.
Liaison Outcomes
You can view self-reported Duolingo scores under the Applicant Forms section. This data is also available in Segments and Exports.
WebAdMIT
You can review the applicant's self-reported Duolingo test scores under the Standardized Tests panel, Duolingo subpanel, on the Applicant Details page. This data is also available under the Applicant Reported Duolingo field category in the List Manager, Export Manager, and Scoring.
CAS Applicant Gateway Enhancements
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Payment Processing Credentials Accessible
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
When configuring your program's payment processing information in the CAS Applicant Gateway, you can now view your payment credentials. This can help you review and confirm your program's setup is current and accurate.

Prefill CAS Name in National Student Clearinghouse Electronic Transcript Request Form
For CASs that accept official transcripts through National Student Clearinghouse, this enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the current cycle. If activated, this enhancement is available for all participating programs. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact a member of your account team for more information or to enable this feature.
For CASs that accept official transcripts, applicants may have the option to request an electronic transcript through National Student Clearinghouse within the application. Applicants are then sent to National Student Clearinghouse's site to fill out a request form. With this enhancement, if applicants click the button to request a transcript through National Student Clearinghouse, their CAS will automatically be prefilled in National Student Clearinghouse's request form. This simplifies the transcript ordering process, as applicants have one less field to complete, and eliminates any confusion over which CAS to choose.
Show Program Prerequisite Instructions Before Applicants Complete Transcript/Coursework Entry Section
For CASs that collect program-specific prerequisites, this enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
For some CASs, programs can list their prerequisite coursework requirements in the Program Materials quadrant where applicants can then match their coursework to these prerequisites. Programs can also include instructions to explain their prerequisite requirements, help guide applicants on how best to match courses, provide a link to their program website for further information, etc.
Applicants can now view these program instructions before they complete the Transcript/Coursework Entry section in the Academic History quadrant. Previously, these instructions did not appear in the Program Materials quadrant until applicants entered coursework. This enhancement helps applicants review all program information before they begin to apply to the program.
This enhancement was inspired by user feedback via the Ideas Portal.
CAS Configuration Portal Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in the CAS Configuration Portal. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Various User Interface Updates
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
The CAS Configuration Portal has had the following user interface updates. These enhancements all improve user readability and navigation.
Cycle Order
When selecting your CAS and cycle, cycles are now listed in reverse chronological order (most recent on top).
Search Filter and Result Navigation
If you run a search from your organization page and view a program from the results list, and then you return to the organization page, your search criteria continues to display and all search results appear appropriately.
Additionally, if you view a program from a results list, you can navigate to the next applicable program in the results list in the top right.
Organization Page Layout and Program Management Action Links
You can now view more programs on the organization page without scrolling. Additionally, when you scroll, the header row with column names and the footer row with action items like bulk editing programs, adding a new program, etc., remain visible.
When selecting an action to perform on your programs (e.g., edit details, submit a program for review, delete, archive, etc.), the action links appear in the same place for every program. They also have a highlighted background when hovered over, making it easier for you to make your selection.
Expand Length of Program-level Question Export Code Fields
If you enter export codes for your program-level questions, the Export Code fields now automatically expand when clicked on so that you can view more of your data.
Universal Advisor Portal Enhancements
New Universal Advisor Portal Help Center
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
The existing Universal Advisor Portal (UAP) help content has been migrated to the new Universal Advisor Portal Help Center. This help center includes all the existing documentation, videos, and guides for the UAP, and now lives separately from other product help centers.
Updated Advisor Documents Report
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs that collect final decisions. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.
You can now access the Advisor Documents report that contains preliminary decision data for the 2023-2024 cycle. Only applicants who authorize releasing their data to advisors at their primary college attended are included in this report.
WebAdMIT Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in WebAdMIT. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
New Multi-Row Designation In Progress Report
This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the current cycle. If activated, this enhancement is available for all participating programs. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact a member of your account team for more information or to enable this feature.
A new Multi-Row In Progress Report is available in the Report Manager, under the Applicant report type. This is similar to the In Progress report you can run from the In Progress page, with a few differences:
- This new Multi-Row In Progress Report is produced as a multi-row designation file, available as both a .csv and .xls. Multi-row designation files list the applicant's information on one row for each program they've selected at your organization. For example, if Aimee Applicant selected programs A and B at your organization, then her information will populate two rows, one for each program she has selected.
- This report only includes an applicant's In Progress designations. For example, if Aimee Applicant has applied to program A (i.e., she is in the Received application status for that designation) and has selected programs B and C (i.e., she is in the In Progress application status for those designations), then only her information for programs B and C will appear in this report. Conversely, all her programs, regardless of her application status for them, will appear in the In Progress report you can run from the In Progress page.
- You can include the Multi-Row In Progress Report .csv and .xls files in an SFTP file transfer.
This new report can help CRM and integration projects, as you can pull In Progress applicant data with a consistent, set column format, regardless of the number of programs an applicant is interested in.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Spring 2025 |
March 2025 |
Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary file. Lookup table change requests can be sent to a member of your account team, who will compile and review these requests. New lookup table values will appear in the CAS Applicant Portal in March 2025 (subject to change). Visit the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for more information. |
