Release 7 – August 1, 2021

New Features and Enhancements

CAS Application Enhancements

Liaison’s suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:

  • API: a data integration tool.
  • CAS Analytics by Liaison and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
  • CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
  • CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
  • Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
  • Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
  • SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
  • Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.
Drag-and-Drop Reorder Functionality for Either/Or Questions

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

The drag-and-drop reorder functionality is now available when reordering Either/Or question responses in the Configuration Portal; this is similar to the functionality for reordering Multiple Choice question answer options. This enhancement improves user experience, as you no longer need to enter answer options in the exact order you want them displayed in.

    Fee Waiver Eligible Status Updated

This enhancement was made available to select CASs in this release. In December's Releases 10 & 11, this enhancement was made available to all CASs.

For CASs using income-based, service-based, and manual fee waivers, this enhancement is automatically available for use. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

In 2021 Release 5, the Fee Waiver Eligible status was released, in which applicants would be alerted that they qualify for a fee waiver even though they could not be awarded one because the fee waiver fund was depleted.

With this enhancement and to improve the clarity of status definitions, the fee waiver status is now called Eligible, no funds available in WebAdMIT.

Applicant Portal Enhancements

New Professional Transcript Entry (PTE) Status

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs using the Professional Transcript Entry (PTE) service. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

Applicants occasionally forget to approve their Professional Transcript Entry (PTE). This enhancement adds a new final status, Finalize Your Transcript Data, to the PTE workflow in the application and enlarges the size of the I Am Finished button. These changes increase the call-to-action to the applicant to review and finalize their PTE.

    Single Program Promote Date

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs using the Single Program Promote feature. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact your Account Manager for more information.

Once a program is ready to go live in the application, association-level users can promote that program from the prelaunch environment to the production (i.e., live) environment. A new Promoted Date column in the Organizations table now includes which date the program was promoted so that you can easily identify which programs were promoted.

Note that you may need to refresh your page after promoting a program to view the promoted date.

Automated Applicant Emails During the CAS Application Process

At routine moments in the application process, a CAS will automatically send emails to applicants. These emails guide applicants through the application process, ensuring that they are regularly communicated with and can access additional resources, including the Applicant Help Centers and customer service information. This document reviews the most common emails sent, so you can more fully understand the application process and plan any program communications you plan to send.

Letters by Liaison Quick Start Guide and FAQs

Recommenders now have access to a Quick Start Guide, which guides them through navigating the Letters by Liaison portal and completing their recommendations for applicants.

Template Naming Tips

When creating templates in WebAdMIT, we encourage you to use clear and concise names. This helps you to quickly identify what the template is and how to use it. This document highlights some important template naming tips and best practices.
