Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables." Periodically, we update these tables to include additional response options.
The new lookup table values include updates to Colleges, Majors, AP courses, ISO subdivisions, and High Schools. Note: updates to accreditation lookup tables (College Accreditation Updates, New Accrediting Agencies, and Updated Accrediting Agencies, etc.) are scheduled to occur during the Fall 2024 Lookup Updates.
These lookup table updates impact the following portals, some of which you may use. If you created a "crosswalk" from our portals to your local data in your SIS/CRM, you may need to update this crosswalk for the newly added options. For guidance on the optimal implementation of the new values, review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page.

In the Fee Waiver area, the Applicant Portal has a confirmation message for applicants to indicate that they have read and agree to the Fee Waiver process and its terms. The language of this message has been updated for clarity.
EMP Enhancements
The following enhancements are automatically available for EMP, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact your Client Success Manager.
Student PURL Login
EMP now offers you the option of requiring your contacts to log in before accessing their PURL. The new login page asks for an email address and password, and allows users to request a password if they have not yet created one. New users can use the Click here to get started link to create an account (submit an inquiry form).
This enhancement also offers these added benefits:
- It provides a quicker way for students to access their PURL, as they have fewer Inquiry Form fields to complete.
- It greatly reduces the number of duplicates, as students that do not have an email/password combination in EMP will not be allowed to log in.
- It allows you to create a link that sends students directly to their Events or Application page, either with or without logging in (see screenshot below).
To create a link to your site that requires a login, add /login to your viewbook URL (e.g., http://academy.liaisonedu.com/login).
When creating campaign emails, you can include a viewbook link to the Events or Application page that requires a login by clicking Viewbook Login Links from the Special links menu. To include a link that does not require a login, click Viewbook PURL Links and select the appropriate link there.
Also, to make a page require a password, from the Viewbook builder, enable the option to Make this page require a password.
Dynamic Email Editor and Dynamic Form Editor Now Inherit Branding
The Dynamic Email and Dynamic Form editors now pull in branding (e.g., text and background colors) configured in your Web Campaign settings.
Download Emails in EMP
With this enhancement, you can create an email, email template, or email autoresponder and download it to your desktop as an HTML file. If desired, you can use these templates to send to peers for review or testing. You can also upload the email to your CRM.
Liaison Letters Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Letters. All enhancements are automatically available to all CASs and participating programs using Liaison Letters. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact your Account Manager or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Enhanced Interface for Evaluators
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
With this update, the following improvements have been made:
- When submitting an evaluation (LOR), the overall impressions dropdown has been enhanced to display all options (“Highest Recommendation”, “Recommend”, etc.)
- A new, separate Save button is now available for evaluators. This allows them to save and continue the LOR without exiting it.
Liaison Outcomes Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Outcomes. All enhancements are automatically available to all CASs and participating programs using Outcomes. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
New Show PDF Option
To allow you to see the default Application PDF quickly, Outcomes now features a Show PDF option in the More Options (three-dot) menu on applications.
Only Registered Sending Domains Can Be Used in Emails
To comply with updated SPAM detection rules, we've modified the domain rules in the Outcomes email settings. Now, if the Sending Domain in your Marketing Settings doesn't match a domain registered with Liaison’s mail service, you'll see an error. Additionally, to avoid mistakes, your domain will automatically fill in when you send an email or create an email template. Contact Liaison for assistance registering new sending domains.
Othot Enhancements
Note that these enhancements are planned to be released on March 2, 2024.
If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
New User Experience
Behind the scenes, we are working on an overhaul of the Othot application to improve the user experience. We have completed a comprehensive set of user studies and built out the scaffolding for the new application. Over the next few releases, we’ll continue expanding the new workflows and refining them based on your feedback to ensure they meet your needs and improve your experience using Othot.
Intelligent Names Enhancements
The platform team delivered two key enhancements for Intelligent Names, which also leverages the Othot platform for data analysis:l
- Export All Records
This allows us to freeze a set of delivered data at the time of delivery, ensuring a snapshot of records is retained each quarter. Even if records undergo changes during the subscription period, you’ll have a consistent reference point for measuring success in the future. - Capturing Data Changes
As of this release, we’ve enabled backend functionality that will allow us to build reporting dashboards that display quarter-over-quarter data changes.
Additional Enhancements
In each release, we enhance existing features, expand functionalities, and address software bugs. Noteworthy highlights from this round of updates include:
- You can now export goals and custom feature groups via BigQuery.
- We've enhanced the data pre-processing pipelines to improve performance for clients with large datasets or complex queries.
TargetX Enhancements
Engage
Version 2403.2
- When checking in, picklist labels now display complete sentences and use generic language (e.g., “Who would you like to meet with?”) For more information, see Managing Engage Meetings.
TargetX Resolved Defects
Applicant Dashboard (Version 2403.0)
- (CL-2103) Submitting a Supplemental form will not revert the Application Status. Previously, starting a Supplemental form reverted the Application Status to a prior value if the value changed while the student was already logged in to the Applicant Dashboard.
Engage (Version 2403.2)
- (CL-2108) Choosing to create a new Contact only creates a single record. Previously, you could click the Continue button multiple times, creating duplicate records.
Events (Version 2403.10)
- (CL-1975) If you don't have any upcoming or previous appointments or interviews, the Appointment Scheduler will accurately show the message, 'You currently have no upcoming [past] appointments or interviews.' Previously, there was a typo in the message.
- (CL-2050) Appointment Scheduler availability is sorted properly. Previously, availability time slots were sorted incorrectly when they were from multiple appointment time ranges.
- (CL-2089) Text formatting displays properly for Events More Information. Previously, when you included bolded text in More Information, it did not display properly.
Online Application (Version 2403.0)
- (CL-2091) Users cannot submit an application without payment when the Enable Payment after Submit is disabled. Previously, you could submit your application without payment even if the Enable Payment after Submit was disabled.
- (CL-2095) The submit confirmation page is displayed after submitting a supplemental form. Previously, you were directed to a payment page after submitting a supplemental form when Enable Payment after Submit is enabled.
TX Forms (Base Version 2403.20)
- (CL-2085) The Confirmation message can now be removed from TX Forms. Previously, deleting the Confirmation message did not work properly.
- (CL-2113) You can access TX Forms in Event Registration on mobile devices and navigate various picklists in the new UI. Previously, when you accessed a TX Form in Event Registration on a mobile device, you encountered large amounts of white space and difficulty navigating picklists.
- (CL-2119) Embedded forms behave as expected. Previously, embedded forms displayed the left panel when it shouldn't, and the Done button appeared and redirected you away from the page.
- (CL-2121) Unknown School is an available option in the School Picker. Previously, Unknown School was not listed as an option, and users received the message ‘No results found.’
