Match Process

How/when do I rank my programs?

You submit your Rank Order List using the online NMS Match System available on the Match website (not the PhORCAS application). You should review the Schedule of Dates and instructions for submitting Rank Order Lists on the Match website.

• The final date for submission of Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match is March 1, 2024.
• The final date for submission of Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match is April 3, 2024.

What is the "Couples Match"?

Two applicants who are participating in the same Phase of the Match and who wish to coordinate their matches (e.g., obtain positions in the same geographic location) may participate in the Match as a "Couple." Each applicant must first register to participate in the Match as an individual; applicants identify themselves as a couple when they submit their Rank Order Lists for each Phase of the Match. Further instructions for participating in the Match as a couple are available on the Match website.

How do I withdraw from the Match?

If, after registering for the Match, you decide not to submit any choices of programs for the Match, you must withdraw yourself from the Match using the online NMS Match System, which is accessible from the Match website (not the PhORCAS application). You should review the Schedule of Dates and instructions for withdrawals provided on the Match website.

If I withdraw from the Match, can I get a refund of the Match registration fee?

No. The Match registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and irrevocable.
