TargetX Implementation Training

If you've arrived here, chances are you're in the process of onboarding to TargetX. We're thrilled you're here and look forward to helping you achieve great things! 

How does training work during implementation?

Our program includes on-demand training that you complete before each live meeting we schedule. This approach allows us to create an optimal experience tailored specifically to your needs. By completing the on-demand training beforehand, we can ensure that our live sessions are focused on addressing your specific questions and concerns, enabling us to dive deeper into the details and provide you with the most effective solutions.

If you're a TargetX user assigned the Unit Manager role, refer to the article Unit Manager Functions for information on managing your institution's users. 

Where do I complete my training?

There are two main platforms to complete your training:

This is Salesforce's online learning platform. Because TargetX tools leverage the Salesforce platform, you need to understand foundational Salesforce topics. Trailhead provides this foundational information and is especially helpful if you're new to Salesforce or need a refresher.

Note: you must create an account (using the Sign Up button) to start completing the training outlined below. 

Liaison Academy

This is TargetX's online learning platform. This is where you learn more about the specific TargetX tools you're using in the Salesforce platform. 

Note: it's called Liaison Academy because TargetX is a Liaison company. 

You can access the Academy from the TargetX User Community. For more information on the TargetX User Community, review the Using the TargetX User Community article.

What training do I need to complete? 

The specific training you need complete – and when you need to complete it – is determined by your implementation team. Listed below is frequently assigned training.

Trailhead Training

TargetX has two Trailmixes, which are bundles of individual Trailhead courses. Note that durations are represented in hours and minutes (i.e., 1 hour and 30 minutes is 1:30).

  • Automation essentials.

Event Creation and Management with TargetX

This learning path covers the full scope of planning and managing your events with TargetX. Learn about the foundations of the Events tool and how to plan for, create, execute, and support your events.

Mastering the Online Application

This learning path is designed for administrators who are new to the TargetX Online App. We'll cover a basic intro to the tool, building forms (including repeatable forms, recommender forms, and supplemental forms), finalizing configuration, best practices for maintenance, and customization.

TargetX Pathways Program

If you're responsible for training your end-users on how to configure and use the TargetX tools to manage your enrollment, admissions, and retention processes, you'll participate in the Pathways program. Pathways is a series of train-the-trainer sessions that provide you with best practices, videos, templates, and other resources you can use to help achieve complete adoption of the CRM at your institution. The sessions are structured as follows:

  • Session 1: we'll focus on foundational topics such as adult learning theory, learner accommodations, and learner personas. 
  • Session 2: we'll apply our knowledge of adult learning theory and create structured learning sessions.
  • Session 3: we'll discuss strategies for presenting engaging openings and closings, tactics for obtaining learner feedback, methods for formal/informal learner assessment, and methods for evaluating your training's effectiveness.
